  1. i think you could do this with every position. its the same thing with quarterbacks. for every deshaun watson there is mitch trubisky. for every patrick mahomes there is sam darnold. the nfl draft can be pretty crapshooty.
  2. Can't wait for you to call him the next Dirk Nowitzki or a taller Larry Bird...
  3. ok. does it say anything else you might find interesting, or is this just yet another exercise with del telling other posters how stupid their takes are? i have never seen mobley play so i dont know. i googled mobley comps and thats the first thing that came up.
  4. you could click on the link and read the article yourself instead of just being a sarcastic ***.
  5. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30495016/scouting-2021-nba-draft-lottery-prospects-strengths-comps-intel
  6. espn: Physical Comps PLAYER HEIGHT WEIGHT WINGSPAN Evan Mobley 7-0 215 7-4 Chris Bosh 6-11½ 225 7-3½ Anthony Davis 6-10½ 222 7-5½ Christian Wood 6-10½ 216 6-11¼
  7. i'd be fine with that draft. especially sewell at 7 and harris lasting into the third. would like to see a receiver at some point but this team has so many needs on defense its hard to pass anyone up.
  8. cant wait to see the pistons watch someone else draft him while we wait to see who falls to 5.
  9. i thought we were fubaring for kumar?
  10. maddon was very close to being the new "goat" curse. his handling of pitchers in game seven was a complete joke.
  11. 98 is below average for a starting pitcher, which is what he's been for almost all of his career. he has been healthy for most of it, so that's a positive. i dont think the proper comparison for porcello is "every pitcher in baseball" like lee is saying. i think its better to see him compared with other starters. and compared to them he's been below average for most of his career. especially lately. i would not sign him this year unless its on some sort of minor league show me deal.
  12. they were mostly below average pitchers who didnt walk anybody and didnt give up home runs but gave up tons of hits. erickson got hurt after age 31 and garland fell off the map, btw.
  13. erickson and garland maybe. the rest? lol. eckersley? is he planning on a late career resurgence as the greatest closer in history? somehow i doubt it.
  14. Outdoor games are a stupid gimmick.
  15. other than one fluke season, porcello has never been a good pitcher. he has on occasion been an average pitcher.
  16. thank you! i cant believe rick porcello has so many defenders on this site.
  17. So that's why the Knicks were so willing to let Dennis Smith leave... Sekou with a solid 6 minutes in the early 4th. Come on Casey. Grant with just a bit of a come down after the Bulls game. Good loss.
  18. in 3 of the last 4 seasons he's given up over 10 hits per 9. that's awful. its not a fluke. its because he is not a good starting pitcher. i get that being healthy is a skill in some ways, but that's really the only skill he has left, and he's getting older. look, if you want a guy who will be able to pitch every 5 days and will give up 4 or 5 runs a game, you got your man. but im not sure why you need to spend $10 million on rick porcello to give you what a minor league free agent could.
  19. i wouldnt have signed taijuan walker THIS year. i would have signed him LAST year.
  20. i would love to have chase. i would understand if they took a qb. i wouldnt be unhappy if they took a tackle. im not sure there is a defensive prospect worth the #7 pick. parsons maybe if you think he's going to be more khalil mack than leonard floyd.
  21. he was terrible. 11.3 hits allowed per 9!
  22. yeah yeah. neither did ivan nova and what happened with him? pitchers are notoriously injury prone and porcello has lots of miles on that arm. it would not surprise me at all if he's injured this year. porcello has been getting worse since his fluke stolen cy young season. he gives up more hits than almost every pitcher in the league and he was turrible last year. look, if were still tanking, this is a great signing. nobody else wants him so he should be cheap and he's a terrible pitcher so were going to continue to lose lots of games. huzzah for rick porcello.
  23. porcello sucks but at least we KNOW he's going to suck. no reason to get excited about the possibility of "upside" or "trade value." lol.
