  1. Sounds like an incredible collection. Can't imagine there is a large sum of Detroit Wolverines memorabilia out there - cool stuff, thank you for sharing!
  2. Jack Billingham at the next Redford show, Sunday September 16th.
  3. I'm choosing to title this 2018 since we seem to be lacking enough consistent response to do this month by month. Need to report some belated July successes I received at Cooperstown. First off, the village was pretty packed and while I've been told athletes/HOF'ers were pretty accessible in year's past, the commercialization of our hobby is now in full effect in Cooperstown too. If you wanted an autograph, you had to buy a ticket. I acquiesced, and got Pete Rose, Tony Perez, and Ozzie Smith (former Tigers draft pick). I ran into Lou Whitaker on the street, but his promoter forbade any autographs to be signed in favor of his paid signing. Rose and Perez were highly untalkative (pretty lame for paying $60-$65 per autograph), but Ozzie was a joy to talk with. I was with a couple of buddies and we asked him if he stayed with Detroit - who would move to 3B him or Tram? He chuckled and said we stumped him...Detroit would have been in good shape either way. I also got Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart (had to pay $10 for him) and Brian Kenny, who was the Hall of Fame Parade host. He had no idea he had his own baseball card when I presented one for him to sign. For future reference, the HOF Induction weekend was incredible. But, if you are hoping to stock up on autographs, bring lots of $$$. I'll post some pictures soon.
  4. My big success of May came last week at Taste of the Lions - a food/drink tasting event to benefit the Eastern Market. This was the first time I've been, but I will definitely be back. The food and drink were great and all, but what made the event amazing, was that virtually the entire football team AND Lion Legends were there and very accessible for pictures and autographs. I was wise enough to stock up on some cards in advance for players I could find them for. Here is my haul below: Program (12): DeShawn Shead #26, Nick Bawden, Jeremiah Ledbetter #98, Frank Ragnow, Hakeem Valles #84, Stefan McClure #30, DeAndre Goolsby #89, Rick Wagner #71, Rolan Milligan #41, Anthony Zettel #69, Toby Johnson #95 (right page), Luke Willson #82 (front cover, not seen below) Cards (17): Tavon Wilson, Matt Cassel, Matt Prater, Zach Zenner, Theo Riddick, Levine Toilolo, T.J. Lang, Frank Ragnow, A'Shawn Robinson, Kenny Goladay, T.J. Jones, Kerry Hyder, Anthony Zettel, Luke Willson, Dwayne Washington, Quandre Diggs, Ameer Abdullah
  5. Technically, none of these are Tigers successes, but May has been a pretty stellar month for my autograph hobby. I went to the Redford show yesterday and got Gosger and Moran. As mentioned in the Upcoming Autograph thread, both fellas were very nice to chat with.
  6. West Michigan announced its Tiger Wednesdays. Apparently a more attractive need to bring in fans than on Friday nights this year. Some good names here, but a shorter list than what I remember: June 6 - Cecil Fielder July 11 - Dave Rozema July 25 - Willie Horton August 15 - Placido Polanco August 22 - Mickey Stanley http://www.milb.com/content/page.jsp?ymd=20150126&content_id=107532400&fext=.jsp&sid=t582&vkey
  7. I arrived around 12:30 and there was no line for Billings. My COA is #46, which gives some idea of how many were in front of me. I agree that Billings was incredibly personable. Interacted with my 5 and 3 year old well and even hooked my son up with a free card/autograph of his own. I appreciate the different names that come in to the Redford show. I did not know who Billings was before the show, but it's still fun to see and meet players at $5 a pop. It was enticing too that Gosger was going to be there with him until he had to postpone. I'm definitely looking forward to Heath. Late 80's was when I started really getting into baseball so Heath is among the group of Tigers that helped me fall in love with the game.
  8. It looks like the other signers have been announced for this new show in Troy. The Hatcher brothers on the 22nd. Info here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DKvdg0EVAAI04Le.jpg:large
  9. Also, I have not mastered how to get pictures to show right-side up on this site yet... Apologies for the upside down-ness.
  10. I had a pretty fortunate pull in a pack of 2017 Topps the other day. Got this Printing Plate card of Justin Upton. I think they make it in a few other colors, but it's truly an original (1 of 1).
  11. The West Michigan Whitecaps Tiger Friday list came out last week: http://www.milb.com/content/page.jsp?ymd=20150126&content_id=107532400&fext=.jsp&sid=t582&vkey June 2nd: Jack Morris June 9th: Nate Robertson June 23rd: Pat Sheridan July 14th: Dickie Noles July 28th: John Hiller August 11th: Eric Munson August 25th: Chris Shelton
  12. I was bummed to have missed it. Had every intention of going, but the drive from South Lyon became tougher to chance as the snow and road conditions got worse.
  13. I'll answer my own question. Looks like The Redford Show is switching it up a bit in November:
  14. Great to see the two names at the Gibraltar show that you don't typically see. Agreed - tough to make the trip on consecutive days though. Anybody hit up the Redford show yesterday? Any hints as to who might be swinging by in November?
