  1. Thanks for the feedback, Dave! At this point, I'm only planning to attend the Pat Sheridan game. I don't really need any of the rest and Sheridan is only coincidental.
  2. Well, we are 9 days in and nobody else started it. Not exactly a success, but went to my first Tigers game of the season last Sunday, June 4. Didn't attempt getting autographs, but noticed that JD Martinez was signing for about 5 minutes just before the National Anthem. It appeared he recognized someone in the front row and came over, then just decided to start signing. Due to threatening rain, there was no BP prior to the 1pm start and I didn't see any other players sign. Did anyone go to the first Tiger Friday at the Whitecaps with Jack Morris? How's the new system? I wanted to go, but had a family obligation.
  3. I've been hanging on to my Max Scherzer Sports Illustrated the last couple of years. I just found some information that Max is signing (for a fee) via a new website he helped create: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/nationals-journal/wp/2017/05/27/how-max-scherzer-hopes-to-change-the-autograph-seeking-experience-and-help-good-causes-in-the-process/?utm_term=.4fcc2417dfee The website can be found here: https://www.fansigner.com/
  4. That's a great deal! Congrats, Dave!
  5. Senator Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) was in Grand Rapids and I was able to get him to sign a few items for me. I think he is a real contender for the White House in the future.
  6. Not Detroit Tigers, but wanted to share. My former neighbor signed a few baseballs for me back in December prior to leaving for Los Angeles. Joe Davis, the new color commentator for the Los Angeles Dodgers--replacing Vin Scully, signed three baseballs for me and my sons:
  7. Same, haven't really been doing much TTM or IP. Hope to start up more this summer. I have had two recent Cubs successes, in the interest of contributing, I'll post here: Tom Ricketts (IP at a talk he gave in Grand Rapids) Ryne Sandberg (TTM)
  8. Still time to make a reservation for the prime time "Denny and Jose" show on tomorrow night, Friday. It includes a meal at that great restaurant, Brann's (located at 4157 South Division St. in Wyoming), one autograph from each of these two American League MVP, a Meet and Greet time, and free photos. Plus some great baseball talk. And the money goes to help the kids at Lee High School. Call Ty at the number below to get you ticket, tell him "Papa Mike Donovan" sent you, and Ty will knock the price down $10 to only $40. A great deal for everyone. See you there!

  10. Just realized I never posted my completed Beach Boys guitar--added Mike Love and Bruce Johnston at a meet & greet a few months back:
  11. Recently renewed my interest in collecting tennis autographs. Some really great results. Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi (took 6 months to complete TTM) Aaron Krickstein and Richey Reneberg (TTM, both less than two weeks) Roy Emerson and Rod Laver (TTM, both less than two weeks) Steffi Graf (TTM, less than two weeks)
  12. I'm going to do my best to make it in Chicago July 26-30, 2017!
  13. Some great successes this month. I haven't posted simply because I haven't gotten anything in months. Attended a baseball game earlier this month (first game at Comerica Park for my boys) and it rained pre-game--plus it seems like in person at Comerica Park has only gotten more difficult the past couple of years. I did purchase two game used baseballs to commemorate their first game. I might hit a Whitecaps Tiger Friday or two, but Lolich, Coleman and Moseby are the only players I have any interest in.
  14. Went to the Shilique Calhoun, Darien Harris and Joel Heath signing at Legend's on March 12 I got them all on my full size MSU team helmet, but was happiest to complete the 2013 Rose Bowl - The Stop (already signed by Elsworth and Lewis)
  15. I've never attended one of these signings. You could always e-mail Marc directly: marc.himelstein@detroittigers.com or authentics@tigers.com Chet has done very few signings in Michigan since his retirement, so if you need him on something specific (like a team signed item), I would bite the bullet and get it done now.
  16. Got this e-mail from Tigers Authentics: Hi. Good news to report. Former Tigers outfielder Chet Lemon will participate in a public signing here at the ballpark on Saturday June 4th. More information will be coming...
  17. West Michigan Spartan Winter Tailgate on February 11, 2016 Mark Dantonio 2/2 (bronze mini helmet and team signed Rose Bowl helmet) Connor Kruse 1/1 (team signed Rose Bowl helmet)
  18. John Kasich 1/1 at Grand Valley State University on February 15, 2016
  19. Brad Ausmus 1999 All Star Game baseball (thanks to Jim for getting it done at Spring Training)
  20. Wow! I still need Cabrera on that SI cover and need Verlander on his last two SIs. Not to mention Scherzer on his Tigers cover. You guys killed it. Can't wait to see my ASG ball signed by Ausmus. Thanks to you and Jim for getting it done. I'll make arrangements to pick it up sometime this week.
  21. Posting for Dave (detroittigerfan):
  22. Posting this for Dave (detroittigerfan): It's that time of year again. One of the best shows in Western Michigan is coming up on Saturday (Feb. 27), the 10th Annual Stubby Overmire Sports Card Show and Auction. I believe the tables are again sold out, but you can call Ty Emelander at the phone # on Scan 32 to see if there are any last second cancellations. Denny McLain is again signing autographs from Noon - 3PM. The fee for the autograph of the only living 30 game winner is only $10, including one free inscription. All additional inscriptions are $5 each. A great deal for the 1968 MVP and Cy Young award winner, as well as the 1969 Cy Young award. By the way, did you know that Denny is the only player in baseball history to win both the Cy Young and MVP awards UNANIMOUSLY!!! The show runs from 9AM - 3PM. Lots of unique memorabilia for sale! Don't miss the Charity Auction that begins at 4:30PM. Some of the unique items include a Suite for 18 Tiger fans at Comerica Park, along with three parking passes. Last I heard the bid was for only $750. Call Ty to bid on the item! Also for sale is a great Steelcase platinum chair with the Detroit Tiger logo. It would look great in your man cave. Other unique items include a Tiger Bean Bag name and a Neon Tiger Sign, both signed by Denny. Thousands of Dollars in Memorabilia will be auctioned off. Plus there is free food during the auction. All of the funds go to the Lee High School athletic programs to support one of the poorer school districts in West Michigan. So all your money goes to help the kids! See you there!
  23. Appears they are all wearing catcher mitts. That should help narrow down a little bit.
