  1. EB, good thing you have a fine ear for music ... good to know you are on the mend my friend ...
  2. Huey, it would be a thrill and an honor to fulfill a trip like that. My goodness, when the big fella told me what he was up to with Team Mom, I hoped for the best and it happened, a surprised Huey. Good for them and especially good for all. Take care my friend, talk again soon.
  3. A social worker from a big City in Massachusetts recently transferred to Mountains of Tennessee and was on first tour of her new territory when she came upon the tiniest cabin she had ever seen in her life. Intrigued, she went up and knocked on the door. "Anybody home?" she asked. "Yep," came a kid's voice through the door. "Is your father there?" asked the social worker. "Pa? Nope, he left before Ma came in," said the kid. "Well, is your mother there?" persisted the social worker. "Ma? Nope, she left just before I got here," said the kid. "But," protested the social worker, "are you never together as a family?" "Sure, but not here," said the kid through the door. "This is the outhouse!" Government workers are so very smart. Aren't you overjoyed that they'll soon be handling all our financial, educational and medical dilemmas?
  4. What does that mean, you say ... Well, I have left JNAP [Jefferson North Assembly Plant] {I worked on the assembly line, in particular - the wire harness line} (P23, for those that know the plant) for CGL [Carrier Great Lakes], (I will be an Inside Salesman - working in the plan & spec division). To say the least, I am grateful to get back into the HVAC sales arena opposed to slinging wires for Chrysler. I met plenty of wonderful people at JNAP, I wish them all well. I am real excited to get back to a 8 to 5 work environment. Thanks for reading and thank you G Reaper for your support.
  5. Well, once again JNAP made the news ... there was a hush around the plant the last part of the last week, many not wanting to say much about the 'problem' ... me, I am just happy that group of dimwits are being weeded out of the plant [puns intended]

  7. OK, just got back from Beaumont ... surgery went well, they expected about 2 hours and ended up in there for 6 ... doc's are happy with the outcome, should be up and walking within the day and on solid foods tomorrow ... I could get all technical with what they did, but this is a family site ... all in all - he will be back to himself soon - which is great news ... thanks again for the prayers and well wishes ...
  8. my cousin Jamie ... he is undergoing lung surgery tomorrow morning at Wm Beaumont Hospital ... they will be removing a portion of a lung that has collapsed multiple times over the past week ... Jamie is a long time GM employee and for the past 25+ years has been on Coach Fracassa's football staff at Brother Rice ... my fellow motownsports.com friends, thank you in advance for your prayers and good thoughts ... I truly appreciate this great site and the fine group of fellow morons here ... thanks
  9. As do I HT ... however, I do this after work or on the weekends ... not getting sucked in by a group think mentality ... on a lighter note, one of my team members said that I looked like one of the dipdunks that were on film - except of course, the guy in the video had ALL BROWN hair not splattered with grey like mine ... broke the team up when he said it ...
  10. I started at JNAP a little over a month ago on the day shift. I am one of the many 'replacement' workers brought in to build the Jeep Cherokee along with a few other new vehicles. I was surprised to see this story. I do not leave the the facility for lunch, I bring my own in [a very non-herb alcohol free lunch]. I have a few people I know that work the afternoon shift and they say this even more rampant during their shift. I missed the meetings yesterday with the Chrysler management and the UAW officials due to a family funeral, however - I was filled in with the content of the discussion. Both sides seem to want to work through the issues. Good for them. However, there is a light whisper going from line to line that, hey - there is a lot of pressure going on for everyone and some need to blow off steam. Well, that is pure B.S. in my book. This group of 'Party in the Park' revelers are putting many at risk at work, since many of them are hi-lo drivers that move materials all day long intermingling between production lines and fellow workers. When we went the orientation, a few items were strongly emphasized, be on time for work - the line starts at 6:00AM, be at your assigned work station - no drinking during working hours - illegal drug use is prohibited - be on time for work - respect your fellow worker - help make a great product.
