  1. If they pick Doug McDermott over Aaron Gordon I will surely snap.
  2. I'd do that Smith for Perkins + Lamb trade every day of the week. Gotta cut bait on that one. And I was a Josh Smith fan heading into the season too.
  3. Really, really hoping Exum falls. But he won't. Really hoping Smart falls. But it's unlikely. I will be happy with Gary Harris (what can I say I'm a homer), Aaron Gordon, or Noah Vonleh too. All should be available at 8. Under NO circumstances do I want Doug McDermott.
  4. from ESPN Insider Tom Haberstroh (this text is before the paywall): "At the season's midpoint, it's safe to say the Josh Smith era in Detroit isn't going so well. Did you catch it in the first quarter of the Dallas Mavericks game Sunday? Smith backed down Shawn Marion on the left block, turned around and launched a contested fadeaway with 12 seconds left on the shot clock. The ball hit the backboard and caromed off out of bounds. That wasn't notable. What was notable was that it bounced off the top of the backboard. Yes, the top. But that wasn't even the worst Josh Smith misfire of the season. That probably came Jan. 8 against the New York Knicks when he sized up Carmelo Anthony on the right elbow and unfurled a potential game-winning long 2 that looked as if it hit a wind gust midair and landed about three feet short of the rim. There was no wind gust. Just gasps from the Madison Square Garden audience. That shot has been the microcosm of the Detroit Pistons' season so far: aiming high, falling way short. Smith, signed by longtime Detroit GM Joe Dumars this offseason for $54 million, has been the worst version of himself. There is nothing more deflating to a fan base than an ill-advised jumper. This long has been a Smith specialty, but his jump-shooting ability from deep has reached its nadir this season as the Pistons try to find some spacing with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond." NBA - The Brick Index identifies who's the NBA's worst shooter - ESPN --- Yikes. The two shots he describes include links to the videos too... and they're hilarious. How did Dumars not see this coming? This looks like Ben Gordon v2.0. Only hopefully in this upcoming trade the 1st round pick they give away won't be in the most loaded draft in a decade.
  5. Such a weak return. Nats fans are ecstatic on Twitter right now.
  6. He has also been here for 11 years. This board has been generally clean and decent compared to most basketball boards and we want to keep it that way. You've been here for a month, settle down, keep the childish stuff on mlive.
  7. Magglio Ordonez. But really it will be Gene Lamont. Which will be gross.
  8. I think Drummond should be playing way more than 25 minutes/game this year.
  9. I would be happy with a time distribution like this. Does this look right? Dre = 34 minutes at C Monroe = 14 minutes at C, 18 minutes at PF Smith = 22 minutes at PF, 10 minutes at SF Jerebko/CV = 8 minutes at PF, 6 minutes at SF Singler/Datome = 32 minutes at SF Jennings = 34 minutes at PG Billups = 14 minutes at PG, 10 minutes at SG Stuckey = 24 minutes at SG KCP = 16 minutes at SG
  10. ^this is huge and I totally agree. I'm very happy with this trade. A lot of you guys are talking like Jennings has hit his ceiling and that he will always be a chucker. I think he has a lot of talent, he's still only 23, has two very smart PG mentors in Cheeks and Billups, and with more scoring options could reduce the amount of shots he takes by quite a bit. He is instantly the most talented guard on the roster and a massive upgrade over Knight. I think we definitely got the best of Milwaukee in this trade and their fans gotta be scratching their heads -- why didn't Milwaukee just give him that contract and keep him? They traded a 50 cent piece and got back a dime and 2 nickels. Two thumbs up from this oft-disappointed fan. This move mostly redeems Dumars' asinine decision to give up a 1st rd pick in the best draft in NBA history to shed a bad contract. No matter how you look at it, this team is going to be worlds more entertaining than the bucket of slop they ran out the past couple of years.
  11. I hope Brunner's contract demands come down to Earth and they can re-sign him.
  12. Brandon Jennings is better than any guard they currently have. But I wouldn't include Monroe in a package for him, whereas I'd do it in a heartbeat for Rondo.
  13. not good. dumars will dump him in two years to some team who takes a 1st round pick to do it. this is ben gordon all over again.
