  1. This is not my area of expertise - but what about "equitable tolling?"
  2. Real quick, non-exhaustive... http://bulk.resource.org/courts.gov/c/F2/729/729.F2d.818.82-1218.html
  3. Well, it was a 5-4 decision, so there were obviously good arguments on both sides. I haven't read the opinions, but it seems to me to be paid less due to racial or gender discrimination should be viewed as a continuing injury - every day you go without fair and equal compensation is a brand new injury. It's done in other situations.
  4. Six months is an awfully short statute of limitations period. But if that's the law, I guess that's the law.
  5. Or maybe this? http://www.local12.com/mostpopular/story.aspx?content_id=39c3f3ee-24f8-4126-9ea8-f8b18ef1c2d1
  6. You mean something like this? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26872774/
  7. If what BF is doing is a very small deal, then what we did in response should be viewed the same way. Just ignore it, and it will stop.
  8. Why doesn't the author go and interview these people instead of complaining about nobody interviewing them?
  9. I guess the solution to unfair taxation isn't dumping tea into the harbor, either, but... When nothing is being done to address very real concerns, I guess you've got to expect a little rebellion.
  10. I have had the same Toshiba laptop for 4 years. I got it at Best Buy for 400 bucks or so. I bought the three-year extended warranty through Toshiba, and they replaced the hard drive at no charge when it went out last year. Now it's out of warranty and the internal CD-rom drive is shot. I've gotten my money's worth out of it, I think.
  11. Judges in Michigan are elected. Judges in the federal system are appointed by the President we elect and confirmed by the Senate we elect.
  12. How about a policy that says you can't post 5 threads on the same topic every time WorldNetDaily and AmericasRight update their sites? That would be a good place to start. We only need one thread about how Obama's lying about his religion, economic theories, etc. If we wanted to read WorldNetDaily or AmericasRight on a daily basis we could go there ourselves. I'm certainly in agreement with being happy to forget about last night, but I'm not so sure the problems have been fully addressed. But time will tell, I guess.
  13. City bus system, sidewalks, libraries, all used by poor people who don't pay taxes. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.
  14. I agree. But does it have to be all or nothing with BF? The mods don't seem to have a problem with bringing down the hammer on other people. Seems like there's some way that they can address the very real concerns that people have with BF's behavior.
  15. I take full responsibility for my actions in the forum last night. I wouldn't do anything differently, except maybe find a more productive way to spend my time. I don't know why everyone here wants to pretend like Buddahfan isn't the root of the problem. The powers that be haven't found an effective way to deal with it, and I think that was part of what caused last night's fallout. We have been encouraged to just ignore BF's posts, as if that will solve all our problems. As far as I can see, BF isn't the least bit concerned about that. He continues to plunder away with impunity. Further, to allow him to post without challenge could be viewed as the other side conceding the point he's making. That I'm quite unwilling to do. There has to be a more pro-active approach short of banning everyone you don't like.
