  1. Somewhat spoiler-y question to follow so beware... Help me out with the time line here. Ahsoka said the last time she saw Annakin he was running off to save the Chancelor. This implied to me the scene in Episode III when he walks in on Mace Windu arresting the Chancellor. But, wasn't Ahsoka already out of the picture at that time having left the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars and before the events of Episode III?
  2. Huge fan here. Have only missed about 3 PPVs in the last 6 years or so. Been to a handful of live UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, and Bellator events. In fact, I'm going to UFC Fight Night Phoenix this Saturday.
  3. If Tyrion wants to be sneaky he should choose Jamie as his champion. That would sure put Tywin in a bad spot.
  4. There was a delay in getting the orders out but I was told they were sent out sometime last week I believe. Should be arriving soon.
  5. You can probably get walk up tickets at most any stadium if its during the week. On the weekend stay away from Scottsdale (Giants) and Tempe (Angels) as well as the Cubs. The easiest walk up ticket is probably Goodyear (Indians, Reds) but its a bit of a drive depending on where you're staying or Phoenix Municipal (A's) but its not the nicest stadium. If you don't care about that and just want to see some baseball that's a really good option.
  6. Brand spanking new stadium. Hasn't even had a game in it yet so there isn't much to report. I had the opportunity to go inside and see it. It looks great. It is in a decent area with pretty easy access right off of 2 highways. The stadium is directly across the street from Mesa Riverview, a huge shopping area with stores, restaurants, etc and is only a couple miles from Tempe Marketplace which is much of the same with a bit better nightlife options. My best suggestion would be to buy tickets ahead of time because Cubs games always sell out and with the buzz around this new stadium it will be a very popular choice. Second, give yourself plenty of time to get there and park because the area is not equipped for the type of traffic it will experience and you will be sitting in a traffic jame. Finally, my last suggestion would be to check out Salt River Fields at Talking Stick if you have the chance. The Dbacks and Rockies share that facility and it is a top notch and gorgeous complex. A lot of access to the practice fields even before the games and a great stadium. Let me know if you have any other questions I might be able to help with.
  7. This is why we have trial by juries...to establish this point. Causation of injury is an element of negligence that must be proved.
  8. I think you're referring to "assumption of the risk" but that would not apply here. You can only assume the risk inherent in the activity you are participating in. For example, if you break your ankle running to first base you assumed that risk. But if you break your ankle running to first base because the groundskeeper failed to fill in a hole you did not assume that risk. I would argue in the instant case that one does not assume the risk of being injured by equipment used as a projectile. Intent does not play a role here. Most homeowner's policies will not cover intentional acts, i.e. acts wherein someone intends to injure another. Sure, the kid intentionally threw the helmet but he did not do it with the intent that it injure someone. Therefore, the homeowner's insurance, if it existed, would apply.
  9. Growing up in West Bloomfield, part of Oakland County, I always wondered why we would always go to Detroit Tigers games but never an Oakland A's game. I always wondered why I never saw or heard anything about the A's given that they played right there in my county! The stadium was even called Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum back then. It made sense.
  10. Thanks for the tips so far. I will definitely check into this Marriott card. Might work out better. Before I make a decision though does anyone else have any experiences with the Venture card, Sapphire, or Flexperks to compare?
  11. I am sick of using my credit card(s) and racking up points that might eventually turn into a $100 gift card for Wal-Mart or get me $500 towards a down payment on a General Motors car I am not going to buy. I want a card that will actually have some benefit...like airline tickets. I have done some research online and a couple cards keep popping up as the best: Chase Sapphire Preferred and Capital One Venture Card. I have also heard good things about the US Bank Flexperks card, Southwest card, and United card. What experience does anyone else have with airline reward cards? Which are the best? Why? What do you like about them/dislike about them? I know most have an annual fee after the first year. I'm fine with that assuming the rewards are better than those with the no annual fee cards. Ok...Go!
  12. Is Manny Acta really the best available candidate? Isn't this the same Manny Acta that lost far more games than he won in Washington and Cleveland and both franchises then made the playoffs shortly after he departed? I understand Washington's roster in particular was not very good while he was there but he still seems a little green for this Tiger team. What am I missing?
  13. Aah. They were able to use my own tissue to rebuild my ACL.
