Laird has never hit more than 9 Home Runs in a season, and that was 2007, and has 29 career Home Runs in 7 seasons, what makes you think he will hit 12-14 this year? Just wonderin? Cause I was thinking that 5 this year may be more realistic, tops.
  3. I think all things being considered equal, that the Broncos brass would love to ship Cutler to the winless Lions.....sorta like poetic justice!
  4. I am still hoping Holland can somehow sign BOTH!
  5. Maybe Mayhew was on the verge of bolting to become the GM of a better team....YEAH RIGHT!!! The timing of this move is beyond comprehension! I would think that WCF would have learned from the Millen Mistake & would have been interested in someone with EXPERIENCE in building a contender.
  6. http://www.rotoworld.com/ According to NFL Network, the Lions have fired head coach Rod Marinelli. We'll find for sure at a press conference that will presumably be held later Monday. There should be at least three coaches fired today. Romeo Crennel is a virtual lock in Cleveland, as is Marinelli, and probably Eric Mangini in New York. Other obvious candidates include Herm Edwards in KC and Jim Haslett in St. Louis. Dick Jauron in Buffalo is not expected to be fired for at least another few days. Jon Gruden is a sleeper to be 2008's surprise firing.
  7. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2008/12/shift_to_offseason_begins_imme.html I hope the above indicating Mayhew to be promoted to GM is speculation, as they can hopefully do better than that! And comments per rotoworld.com: The Lions are expected to promote Martin Mayhew to general manager and Tom Lewand to team president this week. Obviously, they aren't going after Patriots GM Scott Pioli. Bill Parcells can be ruled out too despite an ESPN report to the contrary. The Lions appear to have taken the approach of promoting from within rather than hiring established front-office men. There's no reason to think it will work.
  8. DirecTV will have it & in HD! http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=P4670018 And further info on what cable/sat providers will have it: http://call-center-software.tmcnet.com/news/2008/11/27/3819416.htm
  9. I am only asking cause I don't know.....but does Rod even have the authority to fire the Defensive Cooridinator, or does that come from above?
  10. Not entirely related, but Mort is reporting the Bucs would want Rod Munch back.....very interesting: ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin is considering leaving Tampa to run the defense at the University of Tennessee. Monte's son Lane will be introduced as the Vols' new head coach on Monday; Saturday was Philip Fulmer's final game on the UT sidelines. If Kiffin leaves the Bucs, the Bucs are expected to pursue Rod Marinelli to run their defense after the Lions fire him. The hitch on Monte departing Tampa Bay is that he's under contract. The Bucs extended him just last year. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_relatednews.aspx?sport=NFL&majteam=DET
  11. It was also in the Detroit Free Press today, at the bottom: http://www.freep.com/article/20081109/SPORTS02/811090440/1048/sports
  12. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_relatednews.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4179 The Lions will decide on their starting quarterback for Week 10 Saturday. The Lions are being guarded about their quarterback situation with postseason hopes on the line. It will either be Daunte Culpepper on three days' practice or Drew Stanton, the team's second-round pick in 2007. Wow.....so what is the magic # for the Lions to officially become eliminated from post-season possibilities???
  13. Does this article say the Lions were in the Super Bowl? May be the closest they ever get: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AhKiOYIRAHrBYbji1MoYUzk5nYcB?slug=ap-steelers-holmesapology&prov=ap&type=lgns Roethlisberger’s 44.8 completion percentage was the fourth lowest of his career, trailing only two games of 42.9 percent—against New England in 2005 and in the Super Bowl against Detroit in February 2006—and a 43.8 effort against Detroit on Jan. 1, 2006. 9th paragraph down!
  14. If you call & try to get ahold of the "Retention" Dept, you should have better success than customer service! (Basically tell them you want to cancel & that should get you to the department that has more flexibility. And as stated previously, dbstalk.com is great for DirecTV info & satelliteguys.us is geared more for the DishNetwork type!
  15. Its actually a tricky thing....cause I am the Commish & agreed to trade Westbrooke & Gates to get AP & Holmes & it was vetoed in our yahoo league. Which only requires 4 votes to veto! I think its BS, but those are the rules, & as commish I have to follow them, even if I don't agree! But i am NOT giving up since both owners have agreed to the trade & want it to happen! I want to manually call a vote & have the ones that vetoed it, state there claim on why!
