  1. How about the theme from the Exorcist? It's appropriate as of late and your avatar could hum along.
  2. It's the magic of those effing pinstripes. God I hate the Yankees.
  3. Giants? Hey Biggie good to see ya!
  4. Looks like Sleeth had a decent game. Hope he's settling into AA.
  5. Yoda's right. At least he wasn't sitting there like Nomar before Boston traded him, disconnected from the game and his teammates. I think it means he has a good attitude--and I hope we can get someone good for him in return.
  6. Great post. Absolutely perfect, absolutely true.
  7. For me it's obvious that we have the core of a contending team and that we have help on the way from the minors. We have gaps and we know what they are and with DD's abilities we will only get better.
  8. Thanks for the link. I never would have heard it otherwise. It is old news for us, but it's just great for the Tigers to get the recognition they deserve.
  9. I'm glad I'm not a Red Sox fan. I'd be crushed. The Cubs will be fun to watch after this.
  10. Garciaparra traded to Cubs; Mientkiewicz, Cabrera to Red Sox Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - All-Star shortstop Nomar Garciaparra is headed from the Boston Red Sox to the Chicago Cubs as part of a four-team blockbuster deal consummated on Saturday, right at the non-waiver trading deadline. The Red Sox sent Garciaparra, minor league outfielder Matt Murton and cash to the Cubs. The Red Sox obtained shortstop Orlando Cabrera from the Montreal Expos and first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz from the Minnesota Twins. Chicago dealt shortstop Alex Gonzalez, relief pitcher Francis Beltran and infielder Brendan Harris to Montreal. The Twins end up with minor league lefthander Justin Jones from the Cubs. Details to follow. 07/31 17:07:02 ET powered by www.sportsnetwork.com
  11. Cool story! Thanks. Your dad sounds alright too.
  12. Ever? You must be a very nice person. Give me your lunch money!
  13. Juan is a bad memory for me, so bad I can't even remember who we gave up to get the punk. Who was it?
  14. Like a lot of people have said today, we're not just unloading players without getting something good in return. I like the policy.
  15. I guess no one really wants to go out on a limb and get too excited about Thames, but we deserve to be happy about his success and to look forward to more. He's had another great game and we haven't seen the last of it.
  16. i watch it here in Idaho on digital cable and it's as close to Detroit as I've been able to get in 17 years. Had no idea it was produced in Seattle. Are you going to tell me Santa isn't real too?
  17. Ernie is number one but I am partial. i agree on Vin. I listened to all 162 games in 1983 and he made the game come alive, just like Ernie did.
  18. Nice:classic: "That sure was a wet one."
  19. (OK I waited 30 minutes) "That one sure had to hurt." (Muffled chuckles off-mike).
