I gave it a B. It was a smart way to use their money and both signees upgrade their positions over last year (E. Campbell, Ham/Dupree). The only thing preventing me from giving it a higher mark is that a) I wish they would have gone harder after Finley since money obviously wasn't a factor b) They didn't upgrade as much as the competition. Of course that second point may prove to be untrue depending on how you feel about the radical changes in Miami and how reliable Ron Artest is.
This is terrible. He should also quit his day job.

I also gave it a B, but only because I believe A's should be reserved for something truly outstanding. When evaluating our moves you cant really look at what Miami or San Antonio did;we were a quarter away from a championship and only needed to tinker. It would have been counter productive to make many changes and I think the few we made will prove to beneficial. Our only real flaw was depth, and with Davis and a potential contributor in Darko, I think we accomplished just that. We are in great shape for another championship run.

I gave it a C.

Getting rid of the Brown distraction alone warrants a higher grade than "C".

Getting rid of brown still makes the offseason a tough pill to swallow.
I can only hope Flip saunders does better in Detroit then in Minnesota, and I can only hope that The upgrades we got are better then what we had.

I don't see how we significantly improved or worsened our team. My theory is you always try to improve and since we stayed fairly even and some of our opposition may have cut the gap a bit (Indiana does that just by having Artest back) then it's hard to grade better than a C. Probably a c- is more accurate.

Why? Like others have said we were only a quarter away from another title. They upgraded the bench in some big ways, which was our biggest flaw last season. Other than that what else did we need to do for a better grade? You must be a tough man to please.

I think we adressed our few weakenesses. Depth on the post. Dale Davis will help more than Elden. I liked Easy and what he did for us but DD will get some key mins. In our rotation. Depth at the 2-3 position. Solved. We didn't need a whole heck of alot and with the style this team plays you must be careful who you add to this team. A Sprewell or a Antoine Walker would not be helpful. Attitude is essential and we got better without jeopardizing our strength.
Saunders I can't factor in because I have no idea how he is going to communicate and push our players. I have my reservations on Flip, but in JOE D I trust!
