The GOP has nominated Governor Romney at last. Looking forward to Chris Christie and the "mystery speaker" tonight...any speculation on who that will be?

Well, if they let Boehner or McConnell speak any more than they already have, they deserve the outcome that will be certain. It's no wonder the GOP is where it is, when you are under the leadership that these two provide.

Ron Paul supporters walk out of GOP convention - latimes.com

Honestly, why don't Ron Paul supporters just start their own party? They have about as much in common with Mitt Romney as they do with Jill Stein.

Because as hard as it is to reform the GOP, its a thousand times harder starting a third party.

Fair enough. You're probably right. Our system is set up so that a third party would not be able to elect even one viable candidate even if it could muster 25% of the vote. In a three way race, the third party would need at least 34% of the vote, and that's only if the other two parties are equally split at 33%.

Oh come on, the people that "walked out" were Maine delegates that were either stripped of their credentials by Romney or were in protest of the delegates who were stripped. The Governor of Maine refused to even go to the convention because of this. Are we considering him to have walked out to, since he was invited and didn't go?

I heard several delegates talk about Romney will cut the national debt and as a consequence the economy will be greatly improved. Why do people believe a reduction in the national debt would (significantly) improve the economy?

More non-empirical-ideology-over-evidence thinking. Anybody who needs a reality check on this just needs to look over the pond. But no, one doesn't dare mention Europe, they're all socialist/commie budget cutters over there so those economics rules can't possibly apply to the good 'ole US of A.

why is MSNBC covering the RNC? in covering this, they've managed to break Fox News' stranglehold on being the worst possible source of reporting for something.

Why is Senator Santorum talking about government "hand dates"?

I feel like this is a giant "State of the Union" speech...only there are several more speakers. BORING and predictable!!

I hope Christie has something special planned in his speech, I'm really starting to get drowsy.

Ron Paul IMO looks like such a dope for not running independent/third party and thinking he'd get himself a speech at the convention. His son looks like an even bigger dope for endorsing this political charade.

Ann Romney trying to win people over with the hard working mom speech won't work IMO. Why? Because they're freaking rich and most people are smart enough to stereotype her as the type who had a staff full of nannies doing everything for her.
