Default President Obama is fond of dogs...

    ...with vegetables and rice!

    From the president's own book:

“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share."
Kinda makes Romney's "dog problem" a little less important now, doesn't it?

Well, now that Obama ate dog as a kid in Indonesia, I will only be transporting my dog on the roof of my car.

I don't think Obama needs to be defended here.

Compare and contrast with the food John McCain was eating at the time. (presuming this was the same time that Air pirate McCain was a guest of the Communists.)

I am not going to be a hypocrite and feign outrage at this, but it really just goes to show what passes as outragious these days and the lack of real journalism out there.

It really seems like the American public have lost their collective minds being 'outraged' at things like this.

I am not going to sit here and claim the president is a monster for eating a dog when he was a kid. Nor am I going to make a big deal out of a candidate putting his dog in a cage and taking it on vacation with him while strapped to the roof.

We can always point the finger and say 'they started it!', but really I think one side....ANY side needs to start taking the high road on these ridiculous news reports.

I wonder how many people will TRULY change a vote or have their vote skewed in ANY way based on reports like this?

    Eh. Neither incident outrages me.

But I live in Texas. People eat all kinds of disgusting foods down here (rattlesnake fajitas? the worm from the bottom of a tequila bottle?). And dogs frequently ride unsecured in the back of pickup trucks.

They do this because it sells, and people talk about it. Look at this board. People make countless posts, and threads that last for days or weeks - about stupid ****. It's also works because of the "gotcha" factor one side has over the other. It makes people feel good to slam dunk the other side.

A win win for TPTB who want a divided herd, and a lose lose for the public, many who don't want to know the real truth of how they are getting screwed. It's easier to blame the other side than to find out your have been lied to, raped, and pillaged by the very same people you worship.

Goebbels and Bernays would be proud.
The study of money, above all other fields in economics, is one in which complexity is used to disguise truth or to evade truth, not to reveal it - John Kenneth Galbraith

I vote for liberty. I support Obama's right to eat dogs, as long as it's not someone else's dog. And I support Romney's right to drive around with a dog crated on his car roof, as long as it's his own dog.

There are real problems in this world. These issues don't rate in the top million problems to discuss.
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight; my goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. -- Psalm 144:1-2
