The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said Wednesday that chapters in 23 states have filed over 255 open records requests pertaining to the militarization of local police departments around the country since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, in what the group is calling its most concentrated effort yet to assess the growth of America’s police state.

“The American people deserve to know how much our local police are using military weapons and tactics for everyday policing,” Allie Bohm, ACLU advocacy and policy strategist, said in an advisory. “The militarization of local police is a threat to Americans’ right to live without fear of military-style intervention in their daily lives, and we need to make sure these resources and tactics are deployed only with rigorous oversight and strong legal protections.”

Almost every day, the website Reddit has someone either on television, the radio, or garnered their fame from the internet answer questions. These are called "AMAs," or "Ask Me Anything," and are considered interviews and the people asking questions are actual users of the site.

Today, Rachel Maddow did not want to answer everything. In fact, she hardly answered any questions during her time on Reddit. Towards the end of it, Maddow refused to answer the most popular questions, answered others ridiculously, and ended up being openly mocked by users who accusingly stated that "she is in the back pocket of the Obama administration, just like MSNBC/NBC."

On Reddit, "upvotes" determine the most popular comments and questions. Maddow openly ignored the most popular ones. For example, the question "What do you think is the single worst offense being committed by the Obama administration right now?" was utterly disregarded.

Not a lot new. Seemed to be an exercise in keeping interest alive which I agree with. Had an ex CIA operative state that Benghazi was not a designated consulate and questioned the purpose and what the agency was doing there. The panel was the final and only entertaining part concluding that after Paneta briefed the Prez, he went to bed and inquired no further that night. They also seemed to hint they believed hill did not know the forces involved or that French forces were available to assist. No answers yet.

Tyrants at work. They can destroy your property, nearly taking your life. And if you are lucky enough that they give you new property to replace what they destroyed, well you need to pay tax on that.

I saw someone cut in line today on the way to work... about 25 people. Although at 6am and with no coffee, I'm not in a position to be calling people out on their BS.

British MP Eric Joyce arrested for second House of Commons bar brawl - UPI.com

LONDON, March 15 (UPI) -- Eric Joyce, a member of the British Parliament who resigned after a barroom brawl last year, was arrested Thursday night in a House of Commons bar.Police announced the arrest only of a 50-year-old man, The Daily Telegraph reported. But Tony Grew of the website PoliticsHome told the Telegraph he and about 50 other people witnessed the incident at the Sports and Social Club at about 10:30 p.m.

Man, the Commons has a tonne of bars. Used to all be mega-subsidised as well, although I think some of that has stopped given the whole expenses omnishambles.

Your medical plan is facing an unexpected expense, so you probably are, too. It’s a new, $63-per-head fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions under President Obama’s health care overhaul.

The charge, buried in a recent regulation, works out to tens of millions of dollars for the largest companies, employers say. Most of that is likely to be passed on to workers.

He was the White House correspondent for ABC for quite a while. Kind of reporter that doesn't get involved in the right/left BS and just reports the story.
