Palin gets question, looks to McCain, demurs
This is what happens when campaigns let reporters into photo ops. They get all uppity and ask questions.
From the pool report account of what happened after McCain and Palin's meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvilli and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko:
McCain then looked around the room and gestured as if to welcome questions. The AP reporter shouted a question at Gov. Palin (“Governor, what have you learned from your meetings?”) but McCain aide Brooke Buchanan intervened and shepherded everybody out of the room.
Palin looked surprised, leaned over to McCain and asked him a question, to which your pooler thinks he shook his head as if to say “No.”

This is a woman who is supposedly ready to be the President of the United States right now. And she can't talk to the press until they "treat her with deference", as Rick Davis said on Fox News Sunday before the Gibson interview?
It's ********* that they're even doing this, but the greater ********* is how her supporters twist themselves into knots in an attempt to characterize this as standard operating procedure.
They're doing everything they can to shield Eliza Doolittle because they know she can't hack winging it with the media. if she could, she'd be hacking it right now.But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Yes, she should be more like Joe Biden. She'd be out there talking about FDR being on TV as President in 1929.
The press doesn't deserve to talk to her after the way they hacked her up with lies put out by Obama's people and supporters. They're irrelevant now. McCain's trying to prove that the media isn't a necessary part of campaigns anymore..

The point is, the campaigns don't need their consent anymore on what an acceptable candidate is. The media was was offended that he dared pick someone they didn't think was going to be picked and that they had to scramble around to find dirt on, way up in Alaska, no less. That's a long plane ride. And there's not a lot of Starbucks up there. They're cranky.

Lol - so why did I just see him on the news here talking about *his* initiative to suspend campaigning and trying awful hard to show leadership on international tv?
Or are you suggesting that he wants to, you know, not do debates or something because he ants to take the media out of the issue?
Honestly, this claim deserves to be withdrawn.

Katie Couric is being sexist and not showing deference to the VP candidate!Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.
Couric: I’m just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.
Palin: I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.I'll panic if my kid flunks math.- Jim Leyland
