I am not so much worried about Frank as I am with the sad sack of talent we have on this team.
The problem starts and ends with Joe Dumars. This franchise needs a new direction, no more Joe Dumars, please.

On the bright side Sacramento can't get their first win of the season against the Pistons tonight.

Awesome.Checked the Pistons' defensive rebounding rate and thought for a second I was looking at Dwight Howard's free throw %. Oof.VT

Wow! I thought he was kidding about their defensive rebounding rate. But sure enough, dead last at 61.4%. League average, just the average, is 73.1%.
I know, 4 games, blah blah blah. But still.VT

Actually, it would be kind of fun if we listed about 10 odds things here a game, had each of us start with 100 points and decide what points we want to wager each game - maybe say we each have to bet at least 10 points each game. And maybe at the turn of the year make it at least 20 points a game. Maybe do this for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday game so we know what's going on. It would add a little bit more fun to the season.

I would imagine a game or two a week, or just on friday games or something, would be best since I'm not sure there will be high turnouts in every game thread. Maybe this will cause more interest? Also depends on how much work you want to put into getting odds/keeping track of it? DTroppens' idea of weekend games seems like a good idea. When I start up my job next week I won't be home in time to participate in threads during the week due to long work days.

I'd do it. I was thinking about this earlier and thought of a few things we can do.
1) Take Wednesday and then all of Friday through Sunday's games and have each person pick at least one game on Wednesday and then at least two weekend games. This way we have the point spreads pretty much listed in newspapers and we'd have a two-day "break" during the week to catch up on the totals and keep it from getting too busy.
2) Select all Pistons games on Thursdays through Sundays and have about three betting possibilities for each game - maybe the actual game point spread, the total points in a game and maybe just select a player from the Pistons and go with a stat for him (points or rebounds).
I like the idea of some days not counting so people don't have to worry about it every single day. But then again, we can keep it to every Pistons game and make it a rule that a person must bet at least X amount of points every week. That way if someone forgets for two games, they can put their entire bet on the last game of the week. I am guessing we'd represent a week Monday through Sunday since that's kind of how the sports week goes."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

If we just go by NBA game point spread on specific games we could take the point spreads earlier in the week from some website so that people can bet earlier in the week if they want to get it all done in one shot as well. I don't know how the player specific bets work, but what we could do with that is take the two leading scorers of the time and take their reb/points averages at the start of the week and for our purposes, use those averages as our betting high/low number. It should work out relatively okay once the season gets about 10 games old.

I don't really want to let people pick different games. That would be a lot more work for me compared to making everyone pick the same 1-2 games every week.
Most lines are posted the day of games. So you cant really get any advanced warning.VT

Then maybe we should cut it to Thursday through Sunday games - just to keep a break in between every weekend.
Make a rule that a person must bet at least one game during that span, and must bet at least (I don't know) 20 of your starting 100 point stack. If one never votes during the weekend games, it is assumed they picked the Pistons in the last game of the weekend for 20."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

I think I would probably just say we do it on all Fri/Sat/Sun games. I would list the bets and you bet every one and get 1 point if you get it right. Most points wins.

27-26 Pistons lead after one quarter.
Probably the best offensive quarter by the Pistons starting guards of the season so far.
Stuckey didn't score but had three quality assists and I think Knight had eight points.

Sacramento has to be shooting over 50% right now. It seems like they never miss or are forced into a tough shot.

Someone needs to mention that we miss Ben. It may or may not have been worth playing him considering the state of the team, but he is missed. We got better last year as he became more involved. He was our best interior defender last year and still a solid defensive rebounder.
