Knight was fitted for a Rip Hamilton type mask and is listed as probable tonight.
I think I read BG and Bynum are both back practicing, but no word on if they will play tonight.VT

Monroe and Knight made the rookie/soph game. Things will be a bit different this year. It wont be the traditional rookies vs sophomores. The rosters will be divided up a different way.

Really small under the radar move I would see the Pistons do.... pick up Derrick Caracter. Recently cut by the LaLakers. They can't use him, but he could crack our rotation. I still remember him abusing Monroe in Summer League. He has some offense.
Just a small thing I would like to see happen."I've consolidated Kelly, Laird and Worth into one entity-- Kellairdorth. It's easier to pretend there's only one of them" CatsWithBats

Monroe continues to kill it. 10 pts, 7 boards, and 2 steals in the first half.

14 double doubles this season and 8 in his last 9 games. He's getting better and better every week.

The more and more I see Monroe play, the more I think he can be something special. The one thing I think he misses is a reliable jumper. If he can develop a 15 foot jumper, he would be a deadly force for the Pistons. Knight has been very good so far the promise of the two of them together gives me hope for the future. One more solid draft pick and this team could be able to compete but obviously that's still a couple years away.

What I love about Monroe is that he has responded to the attention he is getting. There was a stretch where he struggled to be effective while facing double teams and when defenses realized he was our main weapon. Rather than continuing to struggle he has stepped his game up ANOTHER level and is now the 2nd or 3rd best center in the East (with only Dwight Howard and possibly Tyson Chandler being better). The guy is going to be an all-star caliber player for years to come, and I love his attitude. He is a humble, hardworking guy willing to do the small things to help his team win.
But as good as it is to watch this team win on his back, I do want us to get a top 3 pick to pair Monroe with an explosive big man.

I entirely missed the game, second of the last three wins I completely missed. I was watching wrestling and then at a winter games meeting for a group of about 30 people I'm part of. I didn't get home until 11 p.m. And, of course, the Wings had to play so they got the 1 a.m. shift (pushed back to 1 a.m. because of some stupid college basketball game). I fell asleep by 3 a.m.
I think I've flat out missed three of their wins this year, and maybe one loss when I was gone on vacation. Apparently I'm some kind of jinx."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

It seems like when he takes that 15 ft jump shot, he shoots a decent percentage. I don't think he shoots it enough. But I do agree that jump shot is the key to him taking it into the next level...which is probably a 20 and 10 guy on a nightly basis while shooting 50% from the field.
One thing I am a little leery of is how often he goes left. It seems like eventually teams will find a way to force him to his right, where he is not near as effective. A consistent jump shot would negate this potential problem though because he is quicker than most of the players guarding him.

Nobody made the all star game. None of them deserved it, so not a huge shock.
