Everything is canceled around me. That means the game is wide open. Don't know if I'll post throughout the game or not, but I'll be watching live.

According to Langlois, Monroe to start alongside Wallace, Wilcox to back up C. Max out of the rotation and the 5th big off the bench, for now.

Good, it's time to try that mix of guys. Monroe needs to get a starting opportunity and Maxiell needs to be moved out for now, at the least. Wilcox should give us some decent backup C minutes, at least he's a little taller. Charlie V shoudl stay in the same role, that's good.
Interesting and random stat I saw today was that Stuckey is worth slightly more wins over replacement than Rondo. I think we have to keep him or get value in a trade. He might not be the star we hoped for, but he's a good player we can't let go.

I think they will win tonight, afterall, we have a rich man's Rondo manning the Point.

That was classic Rip - two screens to a jumper.
I'm going to like this Monroe-Ben combo. Nice to see some defensive authority in the paint for a change."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

Back to back poor decsions by Rodney.
First, he dishes a pass to Ben while he's establishing a screen - not rolling off the screen, but establishing it.
Then he throws it about 10 rows into the stands near one of the baseline corners, throwing it ridiculously high to Prince."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

There's nothing in basketball that gets me more pumped up and a bit of the goosebumps as an interior defense that must be physically reckoned with. The Pistons had that for the first nine minutes with Ben and Monroe out on the court. Monroe got two fouls during the period, but it was nice to see. I hope we see more of that.
Got to be able to keep people from working into the paint. And when they do, make sure they know you are going to have to take a physical toll when you do - and quite possibly that help-side guy is going to swat it anyway.
Just a small dose of that, but we've been so dead of that for the last few years, it really gave me goosebumps seeing just a hint of it."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

Who says an interior defense that establishes itself isn't important? The Pistons establish it in the first quarter, Atlanta's not attacking as they can now and now when they do, even Charlie V. has the fever underneath.A

Rip is just unconscious tonight. Already 20 pts.
Atlanta gets teh ball deep underneath and there was not even a single thought about taking it up against Ben.
Great defensive effort in this first half!
I'll take 80-something scores to see something that resembles an interior defense every single day of the week.

They trimmed one guy out, 5 guys on pace for 30 minutes tonight. They were going 10 deep for awhile. I like the 3 guard lineup with TMac at Point and BG and Rip on the wings. Good way to get BG some extra time, some extra shots, we should be able to get him back to form.

how wasn't that initial play not a jump ball or a travel. Instead, Monroe gets a foul a second after that. That's a really tough call."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

Offensive foul and a turnover by Prince on the Pistons last two possessions. A three-pointer by Williams and BAM, it's a one-point game.

Hamilton with another curl and hoop. He has to have over half of his hoops working off screens and motion tonght. Like I said earlier, classic Rip.

Ben and Monroe force a tough shot underneath, Ben to Rip to Prince and a transition layup.

Tip for Ben Gordon and Tay: No need to pump fake your way out of good open shots, so you can eventually take contested low percentage shots.

Just a lot of players having good games tonight. Charlie V is having a nice game on both sides of the court. Wilcox has been a defensive presence. Rip's offense. His teammates finding him off those picks. Ben and Monroe underneath. McGrady hits back-to-back treys.
Just have to finish this thing otherwise it's all for naught.
