G-F Andre Iguodala had 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and G Louis Williams scored 18 to help the Sixers beat the Magic for the first time in four tries this season -- and when it mattered most. ... Iguodala made a 22-foot jumper with 2.2 seconds remaining, and the Sixers rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat Orlando 100-98 in Game 1.

The Pistons missed 12 of their final 15 shots in the first half en route to falling behind by 12 points at the half. They also finished 2-of-12 on 3-pointers. ... The last time that the Pistons failed to win a playoff series was in 2000, when they were swept in a five-game series by Miami. ... The NBA coach's association has dedicated the playoffs to former Pistons and Olympic coach Chuck Daly, who is battling pancreatic cancer. Both Cavaliers coach Mike Brown and Pistons coach Michael Curry reflected on Daly before the game. "He has touched a lot of different coaches," Curry said. "His impact is felt around the league, and I think honoring him now so he can see it, is a tremendous honor."

Lets hope they do better on Sundays with a new coach.

Also heard a quote from Rip. He said he isn't close to coming back yet.

Since I am watching the Lions later, I am skipping this game. But looking at the box score, Ben already has 11 rebounds at half. Nothing else really jumps off at me. Pistons up 43-37 at half.

Piston fever around here... started watching when it got too close for comfort and I hope they can hold on to this. Up just 4 with just over a minute.

Far from a "strong" team effort. Stuckey was terrible. Bynum was much better... again. Big Ben continues to make a case for "comeback" player if the award was decided in the 1st month. Still, they looked ugly in the 4th and were the slighly better bad team in this game. Both teams shot poorly, both teams gave the ball up freely, and both couldn't find the rim from the line.

I'll take the win however.

Everyone on the team had a good game, except for Stuckey. That's what I mean by a "strong" team effort. They were defending and rebounding like mad men out there.

I didn't watch the game until close to midnight last night. I was working on a garage and finally got to it later last night.

First off, man, it's fun watching Ben Wallace play in a Pistons' uniform. It's like old days. He comes out with this rebounding mentality on the offensive glass and it becomes infectious for the entire team. The Pistons boarding on the offensive glass was a thing of beauty. Of course, we allowed quite a few ourselves.

Nice to see Charlie V. have a decent game as well.

Okay, it's time to give Bynum the PG reins.

On the plus side, Stuckey should have 20 points next game

Need4Sheed said Ben set a club record with 11 rebounds in the first half. Anyone else shocked it was that low? I figured Ben 1.0 or Rodman would have more than that in a half before.

I think I heard that during the broadcast and just dismissed it as misinformation. Maybe it's right. You'd have to think that sounds really low.

that can't be right...that means that Ben or Rodman never had a 20+ rebound game in their careers which isn't true as quick research shows Dennis Rodman had 24 boards in this game.

FAIL

11 rebounds + 10 rebounds in 2nd half = 21 rebounds.

unless of course that's a first half record....which would still be hard to believe as Rodman had something like 25 or more 20 rebound games in 1991-2 include a few 30+ rebound games. definitely bad information.

Heck...even Ben had 16 20+ rebound games in 2002-3.

Man...I think I forgot what a machine Rodman was...I hated when he left Detroit. Personally i think he belongs in the HOF...led the league in rebounding 7 consecutive years and was one of the best defenders in the history of the game.

Ya that has to be bad info. What stat site sorts this stuff out for lazy people like me who don't want to go through game logs?

You could go to basketball-reference and sort Bens games. It will let you look for games he went for over 20 rebounds. I'm not aware of any sites that break down a box score by each half though.

OK, here are the rebounding records for the Pistons in an individual game:

Game - 34 by Dennis Rodman - March 4, 1992 vs Indiana

Half - 21 bye Bailey Howell - Nov 25, 1960 vs Lakers

Quarter - 14 by Ray Scott - Dec 20, 1967 vs Philly

Can view all the records at the link below. Rebounding ones are on page 88 and 89

I'd have to go through my tape again, but I do think they said most in the opening half of a game.

Still, even at that specific of a record you'd expect more than that. If I am in "get a life" mode later tonight, maybe I'll check it. But that will come after "get a life" mode of watching the first half of the Lions game again.

Boy, just the sheer fact these things are possible for nightly entertainment tells me I need to get a life.

Either way they are were wrong assuming the records Deleterious linked are right. Say if Rodman only had 11 in the first half of his game that means he would've had to grab 23 in the 2nd half, which would be the record for a half and it is not.
