Brown's knee should be punished in some form. That kind of play ended my "career" and I'm still feeling it... 12 years later.
Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

I saw this as a clean hit where the initial contact was made at the shoulders. The hit was made worse by a late whistle and Rosival turning his body trying to stay onside. The league has said there will not be any hearing on this play so it appears they are in agreement.
I think the only supplemental discipline that will come from last night will be a hefty fine to Keith Yandle for his classless locker room tirade directed at the league and officials.VT

I don't think that hit meets the criteria for kneeing, although it's close. I think it's more likely he had a real bad charlie-horse, but haven't seen any reports. At any rate, that's a hit that I don't think anybody wants to see in the game. Even as a fan who might be out for blood, the injury risk is magnitudes higher than any payoff. Hard checks into the boards and fights are way cooler. As far as whether or not there's a suspension, who knows, it's not like the NHL has distinguished themselves in the realm of consistency and intelligence in that department.
Just hope the dude is alright, and hope Brown feels a little remorse for it, even if it was mostly unintentional and he just got caught up in the guy trying to stay onsides.Every story is worth living.

Hockey is a contact sport and played at the highest level it can be violent. I see this as a dangerous play and not a dirty one. There is a responsibility for players to look out for one another and that means letting up in certain situations even when within the rules. I think Dustin probably should've done that on the hit but it's also Rosival 's responsibility to protect himself when in dangerous areas on the ice. He did nothing of the sort on that play and actually put himself in harms way because he found it more important to try to get onside than he did to protect himself.

Actually I think we got that backwards....he made a move that put everyone else offsides and then kind of let up because he knew it was being called. I guess Brown didn't see what everyone else in the building saw was going to happen and played through the whistle. And I don't mean that in a bad way, he didn't have an overview of the situation like we did from TV and just played to the whistle. And you don't blame the PHX player for that any more than you do the King D for shooting the puck over the glass cuz he thought it was icing.
