I'm with you Zakk in regards to me believing he'd hold out for a head coaching role. I get the idea that he knows what he's doing however.
    Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

Apparently it was Seguin being a right handed shot and centreman which put him over the top.

Lots of talented players from the OHL ranked past #30... Here's some that I have watched this year

Player - Team - Rank (Midterm Rank)

Ivan Telegin - Saginaw Spirit - 33 (26) - Good rookie season In Saginaw. Big Russian forward (6'2) with skill and the ability to score. Should have a good season in the OHL next year if he stays.

Jeff Skinner - Kitchener Rangers - 34 (47) - Only thing holding this guy back is his skating. He is a sniper, with an amazing shot/quick release. Excellent finisher around the net. If he had a better stride and the skating was improved overall, he would have to be a lock for the top 15.

Steven Shipley - Owen Sound Attack - 43 (44) - Really stepped up with the loss of Joey Hishon this year. Carried the Attack offensively at times, and showed some high end skill when I was able to see him.

Justin Shugg - Windsor Spitfires - 53 (62) - Look for his stock to skyrocket next year as he will take a bigger role when all the big names in Windsor leave. He can fill the net, the question will be can anyone get him the puck next year.

Joey Hishon - Owen Sound Attack - 55 (46) - This has to hurt seeing his name so far down this list. Before the 2009/2010 season started, this guy had first round potential written all over him. He averaged over a PPG in the games that he saw this year, but unfortunately that was only about 15 or so. Great risk/reward pick if he can stay healthy.

Andrew Yogan (Erie - 61), Greg McKegg (Erie - 66), Christian Thomas (Oshawa - 69), Devante Smith-Pelly (Mississauga - 76), Jared Knight (London - 82) are all forwards that have potential to be solid contributors on NHL clubs one day.
Thought it would be funny to relive this thread now both are in the NHL.

Taylor Hall has 6 goals 10 assists and is +0
Tyler Seguin has 11 goals 10 assists and is +17

What made me thing of this was espn did a video where Melrose broke them down again. Its hard linking ESPN videos, but you can watch it, its the first video in his profile

Tyler Seguin Stats, News, Videos, Highlights, Pictures, Bio - Boston Bruins - ESPN
2010 AAL Louis Delmas - 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF - Pro Bowl Alternate
    2010 AAW Johan Franzen (Mule) - 76 games 28 goals 27 assists +5
    2011 AAT Jhonny Peralta .324/.359/.500 1 HR 4 RBI

Just my 2cents, but Tyler Seguin is an elite player, who can do everything well. He can score, pass, skate, check, and is very responsible defensively. Hall can obviously score, but he's just not in the same league as Seguin as a well rounded player. There were alot of comparisons to Steve Yzerman when Seguin was drafted, and I think they were apt.

Big fan of both of these guys still, but even looking back now I still think Hall deserved to go #1. Seguin has had a great start this year, he really helped Boston dig themselves out of the hole they made for themselves at the start. Some of those writeup's I did are funny to look at now. Skinner shocked everyone and rose to go 7th overall and then win rookie of the year. Very few people expected that guy to be in the NHL at 18 let alone have the year he did.

Devante Smith Pelly is also in that list, he has hung around with the Ducks this year. Shipley's stock has dropped bigtime, he was taken #2 overall in the OHL draft, and hasn't made much of an impact with Niagara.
