Marc Stein from ESPN said the Nets will go after Phil hard. If that fails they will most likely wait till the off season to hire someone so they can pursue assistants and have more options.

Carlesimo's not a terrible short term option if they need to wait it out.

On @SVPandRussillo, David Stern said "for sure" there will be "multiple" NBA teams in Europe within 20 years.
I only like this idea if there are enough to form its own league. Then go old school MLB style where the American League never played the National League except in the world series. North American champs vs European Champs.

T&P mentioned the Warriors in the December thread. Don't look now but they are 22-10 and just spanked the Clippers by 20ish.

Have you watched much of the Warriors? They look really good. Somehow Marky Mark has even found a way to hide David Lee's awful defense. That team is playing cohesively and with a purpose. Curry is better than I thought he would be, he is a really good player.

They just have a solid team.

Future lottery pick, trey Burke, is playing on ESPN2 tonight. 10 early points. Best player on the floor by a mile.

Stephen Jackson was hurt tonight when he sprained his ankle tripping over a waitress working courtside.

With all the crap along the base line and all the fans crammed into the sideline area, I'm shocked this doesn't happen more often.

The waitress was taking the order of Mayor Bloomberg, he was probably unapologetic.

Kevin Love also got injured last night, his right hand seems to be made of glass, as he sprained a finger pretty good.

Bit high right now, but I do think he ends up there. I said in the Michigan basketball thread he has the brightest NBA future.

Yah, I don't think he's earned it yet, but its interesting to see him get some love. I agree that he has the most potential. Not sure what Burke is yet.

You don't think he will be a lottery pick (in the US)? This is a weak draft and especially weak for PG's, someone will overdraft him. He is already being mocked at 10-25, when the tournament comes up if Michigan does anything, he will be the focal point and get the pub, Kemba Walker rode it to the 9th pick in a better draft, Burke is bigger and more of a true PG.

Yea, I'm liking this Michael Carter Williams guy too, I'm afraid he will jump up beyond projections though, if he is available where the Pistons pick (8-12), I would be ready to end the BK experiment.

Del has his hate on for Trey Burke. I have done my best to change his opinion. I see Burke being an elite PG, when you watch him it is watching a younger, less polished (barely) Chris Paul. Burke is just as good as a ball handler, finisher and a better shooter than Paul. Paul is silly good at disturbing though, Burke isn't bad, but he isn't Paul...yet.

MCW looks legit as well, he has all the physical tools and with his size he will be a tough one for teams to pass up who are looking for a point guard.

I don't hate Burke at all. I love to see Michigan doing well after being down so long.

I also don't get into where a player is drafted. I said Thabeet would be a huge bust before the draft and the second he was drafted. Didn't change the fact someone thought he warranted the #2 pick. I can't account for stupidity.

I stole this from somewhere else. But, DeSagana Diop has played 595 career games.

In those games he has scored 10 or more points exactly 4 times. Actually all four times were 10 points.

Its him or bust for me at this point, unless we get the 1 pick or something crazy. He's exactly what we need.

At what point do we start to talk about Greivis Vasquez? Or does he not get the attention because of how bad the Hornets are?

I remember hearing about Greivis all the time out here on the radio since he went to Maryland. He seemed like he would be really good in the NBA, but would be a project and not great right away.

Sam Presti is absolutely ridiculous and it will be a shame if OKC doesn't win a few rings.

Reading some stuff I was reminded they have 3 first round picks this year. Their own, Toronto's, and one from Dallas. Last 2 have some protection but still.

Build one of the best teams in the league. Have Lamb and Jones waiting in the wings. Oh, and have 3 more 1st round picks to use, trade, etc.

Wow, I can't even imagine how you got this. He's about the only thing that ISN'T a problem with the Lakers. I generally respect your opinion, but you come up with some really bizarre stuff sometimes.

Correct me if I"m wrong, but I believe the Toronto pick is sort of anti-protected. It has to be a lottery pick I believe

Like I said, he is by far their biggest problem. Those other guys have a lot of talent, stop being a prick and shooting non stop. Since Nash came back Kobe has taken as many shots as Nash, Howard, and Gasol combined.

Kobe scoring 20 PPG and spreading the wealth makes the Lakers a much better team than Kobe scoring 30+ and the other sit around with their thumb up their butts.
