No truth to the rumor that Durant will defer to Westbrook and let him accept the award...

So did Jackson just become Carlisle 2.0? Pretty good product on the floor but fired because you rub people the wrong way?

Although, I still say Carlisle getting fired had more to do with LB coming free than Rick rubbing people the wrong way. If LB stays in Philly I guarantee Rick coaches Detroit in 2004.

Who thinks the NBA is going to beat Sterling in the court room? The legal battle they seem to be pursuing is that Sterling broke moral clause in the contract. Those are difficult to prove and is simply a subjective decision from the court.

I have a feeling that Sterling is going to own the Clip joint for another minute or two and the NBA will see lots of court rooms.

A long legal battle and Sterling dies before it is settled. He leaves the team to one of or both of his kids. Assuming they don't have a past like dad, the league quietly OK's it and moves on.

Nope, everyone seems to want Steve Kerr, even though he has never coached anything. I guess we will see how it goes. Didn't go too bad for Jason Kidd.

Unfortunately for Kidd it will probably only get worse. He has a roster full of aging veterans signed to big contracts. The Nets seem to be stuck with the roster they have, and besides Plumlee, they are all past their primes.

Honestly, the Nets probably consider this year to be a disaster. They didn't spend $200M to finish 6th in the east and lose to Miami in the 2nd round.

Yah, its a tough call. They made themselves relevant and began building a fanbase in Brooklyn, but obviously they wanted to finish better.

It seems like a tough argument to say that she shouldn't be allowed to own the team. I don't really want her to own it and would just like to see all STerlings go away from the NBA. Legally though, what's the reasoning?

I think we need to know her current status as an owner.

If she doesn't any any part of the team, she would need to be approved by the league as a new owner. So they could vote her down just because.

But if she owns an equal share like that article says, I don't see how they can make her sell. Or if Sterling wants to transfer his shares to her, how can they decline since they already approved her and she hasn't done anything wrong.

But I agree its best if the Sterling names just goes away.

Digging into the Los Angeles Lakers' coaching search - ESPN Los Angeles

I get that Kobe is a Laker legend and all that. But I don't think I would want to hitch my horse to that wagon at this point. I'm not convinced he can stay on the court and I'm pretty confident he cant deliver your a title like he could before.

During the NFL draft hoopla, I saw a stat that said 76% of all retired NFL players are bankrupt and/or facing financial difficulties. So I went looking for an NBA number.

Donald Sterling says he was set up, says Magic Johnson bad role model for Children of L.A. | ProBasketballTalk

“If I said anything wrong, I’m sorry,” Sterling said. “He’s a good person. I mean, what am I going to say? Has he done everything he can do to help minorities? I don’t think so. But I’ll say it, he’s great. But I don’t think he’s a good example for the children of Los Angeles.”

It just goes to show managing one's spending rate is more important to achieving long term financial security than earning power.
