    Default "Deliverance" turns 40.

That scene (you know which one) still makes me squeamish.
Every now and then you can still catch the movie on a TNT or TBS late at night/ early morning.
I didn't see it originally in a theater, only on tv..... I'd guess seeing it in the theater must have been really uncomfortable at the time.

Very good movie, very good acting.

i really loved the book. the movie has its moments, but burt reynolds was miscast as lewis medlock - that cackle was annoying after five minutes.

well this is of course wrong. Burt Reynolds is an extremely good actor and was awesome in that movie. He just made stupid career/life decisions. Doesn't make him any less of a talented actor.

I thought Reynolds was wrong in the movie. Actually didn't care for the movie that much. Not one I would watch again.

i have enjoyed reynolds in several movies (esp boogie nights), and never said he wasn't talented - just wrong for the role.
