    Default Bought a mandolin today!




    Holy crap is this a fun instrument to play!! Any other mando players on here?

    The first song I learned was, of course, Losing My Religion. I'm having a great time with it.

    One of these days I will pick up a mandolin. I'm hoping I'll be able to find a quality mandolin for a decent price (a few hundred bucks-ish).

    A few months ago I had someone ready to sell me one for $45 over Craigslist. She backed out of the sale. Totally bummed me out.

    My dad has a mandolin, and I strummed it, trying to pick out "Losing My Religion" (is that the de facto song for modern guitarists picking up a mandolin for the first time?), but I struggled a bit with the tuning and fat fingers. I imagine over a little time I could have figured things out. Maybe I'll get a hold of one sometime to try again.
