Hank Greenberg Movie
I keep wanting to rent the "Life and times of Hank Greenberg" at my local blockbuster, but they never have it in stock when i'm there (which isn't that often). I was wondering what everyone here thought of it. I'm eager to see it since Greenberg is one of my favorite players of all time.

I saw it at the theater when it came out. I loved the baseball parts. I thought it was a little boring as it dealt a lot with the fact that he was the first Jewish sports hero. That element was interesting for awhile but it started to dominate.

I bought the CD at Meijer. It is fairly entertaining. My suggestion is to watch it in 15-minute segments to keep it interesting.

I bought it out of a Blockbuster bargain bin up here during the summer for $4.

I'm sorry. I call DVDs CDs all the time. That's what I have. I don't recall if it had a bunch of extras though. I just watched the feature presentation.

Greenberg was one of the greatest ever. I admire him and his memory mucho, but if you have to take the movie in 15 minute segments it must be pretty bad. First major league game I ever saw, in 1941, I saw Greenberg homer. Got me started on the right foot. I'll just remember that and forget the movie.
I have thought this over very long and I conclude that there is no reason whatsover for war. It brings suffering, hardship and death, over and over again. War is the antithesis of Love. It, of all things, is most unreasonable. - B. Ringo.

I just finished watching this film. The overall theme of the movie focuses on the fact that Greenberg was a Jewish hero, the 'Jackie Robinson' of his day. The most enjoyable parts for me was the historical World Series footage of Briggs Stadium and Wrigley Field back in the day. Worth a look if your a baseball fan! I ordered it off Netflix, so it was easy to find.

Wow, this is an old thread. I ended up getting the movie as a gift a year or two back. Not one of the best movies I've ever seen, but quite enjoyable.
