Castellanos singled and tripled today, now batting a nifty .398

Two more hits for Avasail Garcia (he's up to .395)Last edited by DaYooperASBDT; 04-29-2012 at 07:09 PM.

Decent outing for Mr. Oliver today (6 IP, 4 hits, 4 BB, 1 ER, 5 K)
Strieby slumping - he's now hitting .255 for April
Quintin Berry continues his solid April with a .292 average, .400 OBP, and was 10-13 on steals2012 & 2013 Adopt A Tiger: Dean Green (Lakeland Flying Tigers)

Daniel Fields who has missed a couple or three games, said he is feeling good and hopes to be back soon.

Roger,
What are your thoughts on Castellanos defensively at 3B? I know he's had a few throwing errors however I'm interested in your take in how he's looked there athletically as you've certainly seen a number of third baseman over the years in Lakeland.
It's hard not to get too excited about him as, taking out last April in W MI, he's been hitting north of .350 since he's joined the system.

I will take a stab at this. He is a work in progress. He seems OK going behind the bag at third but doesn't go to his left well. He needs work charging balls that are tapped in front of him. His arm seems strong enough but the balls seem to tail up the first base line and he is going to get the 1B killed.
He seems to catch the balls that are hit at him. It is to early to say he wont stay at third. His bat is for real. As a person he is quiet but polite. He is also accommodating to the fans.

How long does he have to hit .400 before they move him to Erie?
Before this season I was pretty sure he'd spend the whole year in Lakeland. Now I'm not so sure.Up above, aliens hover, making home movies for the folks back home.
