Does that mean
He's an Australian shortstop, just 16-years old...still working on a scouting report/
Does that mean you're writing your own scouting report on the kid.....meaning you're out in the stands, eyes on ballplayer....or is it another derivative superficial 'scout wannabe' Mark Anderson effort?

Certainly! The difference in your post is you KNOWINGLY embarrassed yourself while insulting someone you don't know. Not every player discussed here is a junior idol and discussion can irritate the reader. If a single reference to Sayers and Mark giving what he knows so far should not ruffle the most sensitive feather.

No. Roof stayed on the LFT roster.
Newman went to West Michigan to make room for Kunkel. Logan Hoch went from EST to West Michigan, and Clemente Mendoza and Steve Crnkovich were both sent to EST.

Thanks Mark, was the catcher fall back due to Omir Santos getting sent to Toledo?
And who would be more likely to back up Julio Rodriguez, Kunkel or Roof. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading

Ugh, I remember Newman being mediocre in West Michigan last season. Not thrilled to see that he's back for more.
The Whitecaps have now been shut out four times in the last eight games. Are there any bats in EST that they could bring aboard to help the offense?!?@MrPaulOzzOslund Model citizen, zero discipline.

Not the one to offer hope, but I appreciate your regular participation in the minor league forum. We don't have stats and I've only watched a couple of games. In a limited sample, Aguavivas 1B and Anderson OF have a good look at the plate. Purroy is active behind the plate.

With Brantly and Robbins doing well, there probably isn't room for Aguasvivas or Purroy yet. I remember reading about Aguasvivas having some pop in his bat in the DSL or VSL a couple seasons back, though.
Edwin Gomez isn't doing well (nor is Jeff Rowland in limited playing time). Maybe Anderson is a guy to keep an eye on? What's his first name. The only minor leaguer with that last name that I'm familiar with is Brett, but I thought he was an infielder.@MrPaulOzzOslund Model citizen, zero discipline.

Brett moved to the outfield this spring, and frankly, he's not going to be much help.
-
I wondered if that was the guy Huey was referring to. Thanks.
So, do you think there are any hitters in EST that could help the 'Caps? Any hitters in West Michigan that could benefit from some time in EST? Can't imagine Castellanos or Machado moving, even though they've struggled.@MrPaulOzzOslund Model citizen, zero discipline.

There's not much in EST that's going to provide much help. Maybe someone like Alexander Nunez, but Hernan Perez hasn't been an issue thus far.
Frankly, the Tigers are getting about what they want out of this crew right now....tons of ABs for some raw talents and tons of developmental time/work. I'd expect the second half to be much, much more entertaining for you.

Right on. Thanks for the insight, Micro.

During the Spanish converation classes in Lakeland, the Latin players were saying that Aquasvivas led his league in Home Runs prior to coming stateside. Brett Anderson seems to be hitting the ball hard in EST but batted in the 220's in Connecticut last year. Samir Rijo is the CF in EST and played for Lakeland for a while last year but dont know how much help he would be. Vasquez is the RF but is only 16 or 17 years old. Your problems seem to be a lack of production from your OF's and dont see help unless they go outside the organization. With the draft next month, maybe you will get some college players like last year with Jones', Plagman and Brantly.

PCTF I look forward to your observations. You have a better eye on talent than I possess. Plus you talk to more of the players and scouts, while I watch this game in a view finder or through the eyes of the representative families of the players.imaged a home run of his. Probably the day my pics didn't turn out well. Brett Anderson does hit the ball out deep and it seems always on a direct shot to the OF'er. Agua is a big 1B but seems to move quickly while carrying a lot of power in his bat. Danry Vasquez can cover a lot of ground making the play or as an assist.

Thanks for the insight, Larry. Last year's WM team definitely got a big boost from the draft.
I think that one of the biggest factors in WM's struggles this season might be their youth. During one of the first Loons/Whitecaps games, I was comparing birthdates for the two teams, and, on average, the Whitecaps were easily the younger of the two teams. I haven't compared WM's rosters to the others in the Midwest League, but I've got a feeling that WM would probably rank toward the younger end of the spectrum.@MrPaulOzzOslund Model citizen, zero discipline.

Average age of the Whitecaps roster is 21.0 for hitters and 20.4 for pitchers. The league averages are 21.6 and 21.8, respectively.

From mlive.com: Tigers have signed of Ryan Hamme and assigned him to West Mich. He replaces Ryan Enos who has been banished to Extended.
Hamme was the 31st pick of the Chisox in '09. I'm assuming that he was released, then signed by Tigers.
