Furbush going in game #2, Hoffman's turn get skipped again, hoping it's not an injury.

Whitecaps are having fun today in Beloit. they have scored 10 runs in the third inning on 9 hits. I lost track of how many doubles were included, but it will be recapped when we get back to the broadcast (nope he didn't recap the hits, but I looked it up and it was 4 doubles in that inning). they lead Beloit 11-2 (after last night's game--I hope it is enough)

Mark Sorensen worked out of a one out bases loaded jam to get out of the fourth inning only allowing one run to score. He had the help of a 6-4-3 double play.

starting the fifth, the Whitecaps are ahead 11-2

top of the fifth:

bases are loaded with one out for Billy Nowlin who is 3-3 with 2 doubles...full count and fouls several off....nope he pops out in foul ground. 2 out. Jordan Lennerton (who leads the team in home runs--well okay SOs too, but he is having a good game today 1-2 wwith a walk and run scored)--nope he strikes out ending the inning.

Whitecaps ahead 11-2

bottom of the fifth:

A fly out, a single, a strike out and a pop out to short makes short work for Mark Sorensen. Mark has been pitching well--5.0 innings pitched, 2 runs (earned) on 6 hits, one walk and 3 strikeouts. Avisail Garcia has a good arm out in right field and has stopped many runs from scoring so far this season. His arm has been shown a lot of respect as many runners have chosen to stay at third (and a few have been thrown out at home plate, too)

LFT won game 1, 4-0 against the first half and current North Division leader Brevard (Brewers). Casanova again hitting the gaps to score runners.

Game 2 in the 5th with no score.

Sixth inning:

top: Whitecaps got a couple runners on but a double play ended up ending it

bottom: Beloit went down quietly 1-2-3 as Mark Sorensen got his fourth K

top of seventh:

Brent Wyatt is now 2-3 as he singles. Ben Guez grounds into what should have been a tailor made double play, but a wild throw allows him to be safe at first. But Bryan Pounds grounds into a successful double play. (rats). So far the only batter on the Whitecaps that does not have a hit is my boy Luis Salas, but he has a walk and an RBI. He and Angel Flores are the only ones who do not have a run scored.

Thanks for the updates. Is there any place to listen to these games?

Whitecaps win the game 11-3. If you want to see what this old ball park looks like that the Whitecaps are playing at in Beloit Wisconsin, see my latest blog: http://www.motownsports.com/forums/b...-memories.html
