Which, this reminds me, they don't do as consistently in AAA.

It is not like he is being called up to start every day, he is a filler piece right now while they don't need Vargas on the roster to be the 5th starter.
He was trying to play 3rd in AAA and was, by the accounts in the press around here, abysmal at it. Branyon has first locked up right now and Griffey is doing most of the DHing so he will likely find his playing time limited.

Well I hope he gets at least one at bat in the July series at Comerica. I bet he gets a nice cheer. Until he hits one into the bushes.

I could see him getting starts at first if it were a particularly nasty lefty throwing and they wanted to give Branyan a night off.
