One fear I have with Verlander in Erie is that Zoom might try to out duel him and overthrow. I hope the coaches watch out for that...

The Florida State League says goodbye to its best pitcher, who leaves the Sunshine State with a league-leading 1.67 ERA on 12 consecutive starts of six-plus innings while allowing two or fewer earned runs.

8. Joel Zumaya, rhp, Tigers (Double-A Erie)
With Verlander joining him at Erie, the Tigers may have the two best fastball in the Eastern League sitting atop their Double-A rotation. The minor league strikeout leader with 113 in 81 innings, Zumaya has been strong in the clutch -- with runners on and two outs, opposing batters are 2-for-40 with 20 strikeouts.

It just sounds funny, that's all. Verlander, the new kid on the block...and Zumaya, not too smart...but the league's #1 K machine.

WHO'S THE BEST...around, one is (kick in that song from Karate Kid - love that song).
