Very suprised this hasn't been getting more pub online and on the TV. I'm guessing if this was Jeter or some other known named player then this would be competing with the whole Penn St thing right now for air time.

Anyways hopefully everything works out well for the kid. Can't imagine they want anything more then money for this kid and once they get it he will hopefully be set free.

Apparently in an hour long Sportscenter last night, this story was never even mentioned.

Kevin Goldstein is saying on Twitter that insiders are saying there are numerous kidnapping incidents/threats that are kept under wraps.

Venezuelan police said 618 kidnappings were reported in 2009, and the numbers have grown rapidly in recent years. In 1998, when Chavez was elected, just 52 kidnappings were reported. Security experts say the real number of kidnappings today is much higher because many cases aren’t reported to authorities.

Ramos was in my fantasy team carousel of catchers I went through (Olivo, Saltalamacchia, and Buck were the others) after Posey went down last year, and I was thinking I'd possibly cursed them all somehow. At any rate, great news.

Why is this not a bigger story? Why is this buried on the side instead of being the headline story? This was an amazing story that turned out well...but ESPN only cares about a university that covered up child sex abuse...once again...you should be ashamed of yourself ESPN.
