That's really not a great list. The Heath Bell trade was the only one that really stuck out to me.

Now that I think about it, he has signed some very average, old players to big contracts. Glad he's in New York.

I honestly think Minaya is hurting the Mets, not helping. I've never been a fan of theirs to begin with, but in listening to sports radio and reading columns, what has he done right in the last three years, or at least since they were last in the playoffs? Why did he fire Willie Randolph and replace him with Jerry Manuel? What has Manuel done since taking over other than bad mouth a former player (Ryan Church, who gave up his body for his team only to be belittled by Manuel in the media)? And who kept him through all of their struggles?

Their farm system is in shambles. The trades they have made (other than the Santana deal, which I guess gives Minaya some leeway due to shear brilliance) have been risky and detrimental at best. They resigned an aging star (Delgado) who ended up on the DL this year and has been on and off in previous years. Why do the Wilpons continue to keep him? It baffles me.

I became a Mets fan in 1980 when we first got cable. We had WTBS and WOR as our "Superstations", but not WGN. So we got Braves and Mets instead of Braves and Cubs. I just hated the Braves, and they were ALWAYS on. Sorry, RIP Skip Caray - but he was the worst announcer I've ever heard. WOR only showed about 50 or so Met games per year. I used to love the call of the games by Ralph Kiner and (starting in 83) Tim McCarver (before McCarver became irritating). This is to show I've followed the Mets for nearly 30 years, as my NL team.

I hate Omar Minaya. He has put together a team that is completely dysfunctional. He fired Willie Randolph in the most classless manner I've seen in a long time. He wastes money, and gets no results. The Mets will be lucky to get 70 wins this year. IMO, this entire organization needs to be restructured from the very top, down to the players on the field.

The Mets are a mess.
