You wouldn't have ever heard about the murder of Seth Rich if it weren't for the fake news that Jerome Corsi, Fox News and others had pumped out about him. So, the very fact that you are hemming and hawing about how "awfully suspicious" it was all comes down to the fake news. We actually do know! We actually ******* know that Seth Rich and his family were dragged through the mud by a bunch of conspiracy theorists for their own political ends. Jerome Corsi literally admitted it. So dupes like yourself can come around and hem and haw about how "awfully suspicious" it looks and how about "how we'll never know" and all that bull****.... all pure spectulation and all nihilistic BS, the logical end of which means that there can be no such thing as common truth. Just own the fact that you fell for it. For once.

Impact planned to be very damaging… time to let more than Podesta to be exposed as in bed w enemy if they are not ready to drop Clinton. That appears to be the game hackers are now about. Would not hurt to start suggesting HRC old, memory bad, has stroke, neither he nor she well. I expect much of next dump focus, setting stage for Foundation debacle.” August 3, 2016 – Using stolen identity, Internet Research agency sent message to many Florida groups: My name is [T.W.] and I represent a conservative patriot community named as “Being Patriotic.” . . . Calling what transpired in the last few years (including the investigation and report) “fictional Russian nonsense “ disqualifies anything you say as being an attempt at honest discourse. Just ridiculous.

Not everyone deserves to be treated equally. It's impossible to cover Trump and not be negative because everything about him is negative and he's a perpetual loser. The media today are Dan and Jim having to cover 100 loss Tiger teams. At some point you just have to call **** for the **** it is.

So we have a sports owner that the fans are persuaded knows nothing about being one, despite being probably the only sports owner in the country that grew up in the middle of franchises in two major sports, who has engineered everyone in the world's dream hire to run one of his franchises, (brooming K Holland despite the Ilitch org being paralyzed by its misplaced loyalty) who has already seen a number of the team's biggest past organizational failures (most of which have been cited here) being addressed, but he is still a Moran and is slammed based on what people speculate he will or won't do in 3 or 4 yrs. OK. I get it, Avila doesn't look like the sharpest tool in the shed when he gives interviews, and I could care less because that criterion has zero to do with how good he really is at his job. Something much harder for any of us to see than his TV skills. I have no idea if this org is going to succeed with this management cast, but aside from not having any players - which is 95% a legacy issue, I don't see much In the way of criticisms based on any objective, discernible facts. The franchise has made the moves to join the 21st century, things hinge on present and future draft picks and trade acquisitions who are still in the minors.

Just so we are clear, Michael Cohen was *indicted* for the payments that you claim weren't illegal. Generally, people aren't indicted and enter pleas for things that aren't illegal. In addition, as I understand it, it does not matter where the money came from... if the intention of the payments (ie. the hush money to Karen MacDougal and Stormy Daniels) was to protect and insulate the Trump campaign, it's can be deemed a campaign contribution. This has been stated over and over, and you appear to ignore it over and over.

Sorry. We do the best we can. As you may or not be aware, it seems to be no matter what we do, we get complaints. That being said, I find there’s not much reason for this thread going forward, as there DOES exist an older climate/warming thread that can be added to. Have a wonderful day, everyone, and when you send your complaints, it’s Susan with an “s”, not a “z”.

The Fox headline implies the reason the tweet is being investigated is because it opposes Trump's impeachment, when in reality it is being investigated for its potential to incite violence. Alternately, opposing the impeachment proceedings is incidental to why it the tweet is being investigated, yet it is the central to the Fox lede.

I don't agree it should only be that. The United States is not a real estate company. Character and leadership counts a lot in public office and Trump has none of either. Most politicians have character flaws, but I never seen any public figure as ****** up as Trump. He is simply not mentally fit nor stable enough to be in the position he is in.

You know, go back and read the transcript from the Ukrainian president. I'm betting a lot of leaders do this. Everyone is focusing on what Trump said, but look at how that Ukrainian president worked him over. Hit him with flattery, used his own draining the swamp on him, mentioned how great his hotels were, etc. Whenever Trump is in a room with a bunch of world leaders, he is no doubt the stupidest person in that room. They know how to work him.

One could make somewhat of a case for Tommy Bridges. He was a member of four World Series teams for the Tigers ('34, '35, '40, '45) and was 4-1 in World Series games (Verlander being 0-4 in World Series games). That being said, I think Verlander would be considered the Tigers' best pitcher in franchise history. Just a shame he couldn't win a World Series here.

I have not done a good job articulating the following, and I further know I irritate at least some posters with the opinion, but this is precisely why I believe this nation deserves this presidency. By that, I mean the fact Seth's observation is true tells me we collectively have failed socially / culturally / educationally / parentally, and this failure directly led to this presidency. And I am completely mindful of the electoral college / Russian influence / free media / ... / arguments and also think they have merit in varying degrees. But the fact a 'good percentage believe' is at the root (IMO) of why we are where we are.

I really hate this argument. Where is it written in stone that we were to be bound for all time by the conditions of the late 18th century? The reality is that the founders did not envision the federal government as the dominant player in a federal system, but history has proved their forecast was simply and unequivocally wrong. As the world shrinks and other non-governmental powers and problems grow in economic and transnational scope and power, more and more of the required public response must be matched at the level of government that matches the scope of the issues presented. That is a simple fact of historical social, technological and economic evolution. And it is also a simple fact that as the importance of the Federal government grows in comparison to state and local units, the governing equity imperative that it also express democratic principles itself only grows with it. The '"sanctity of the way things were" propaganda promulgated by so much of the right wing today, is - much like libertarian propagandizing - part of an express strategy by those economic powers now largely beyond the reach of the states, to prevent the public realization that in today's world the federal government is pretty much the only hope of protection from well funded economic transnational powers that are not the least interested in acting in any public interest.

To follow up. I took the advice of many here to fix the water problems. I also put in drain tile and a new battery back up sump pump. Graded the driveway to the water all flows away from the house and finally, installed new down spouts, as suggested by @John_Brian_K. We didn’t attempt to void the sale of the house, as we fell in love with the home and all the space we have. We’ve done a bunch of repairs and upgrades, and honestly, it’s been kind of fun doing all the work. And today...the sellers of the house wrote a $15,000 check for our efforts. All in all, I’m ok with the settlement. Lawyer fees have been less than $900 at this point. Well worth it.
