Default Sports Injuries

What sports injuries have you had?

For me- Each ankle sprained, 3 broken fingers, bone bruise on knee, sprained knee, sprained shoulder, broken nose, whiplash, level 2 concussion, and a slight shoulder seperation. Nothing real serious, that required surgery.

fractured my wrist playing basketball

I've screwed up my knee playing tennis. I forget to stretch before or after playing. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, haven't gotten it checked out yet.

Pretty miniscule compared to you guys.

I dislocated my shoulder once playing football with some of my friends. I walked off on my own without a wheelchair, too. That's it though.

Got poked in the eye when i was a kid, dont remember what it was, but i had to wear a patch
Broken Left Arm and multiple arm sprains
Badly Sprained Left Ankle
I had a finger break in 2 places at once
2 Concussions
Stitches behind one of my ears
got nailed in mouth with baseball when i had braces on, it tore up my lip and had 4 teeth knocked way back

and one really odd one now that limited my range of motion in my left arm, couldnt see anything in x-ray, just got mri taken saturday. doc thinks i got a piece of bone or something loose in my arm that would probably need to be removed through surgery(didnt Maroth have something similar?)

More strains, sprains, broken fingers and toes than I can actually list....now on to the serious stuff....

- Small skull fracture from a line drive while pitching during fall ball in college.
- Broken nose from a collision with a first baseman in high school
- Complete tear of the biceps tendon in my right shoulder
- Two tears in my labrum and one in my rotator cuff of the right shoulder
- Partially torn UCL in my right elbow
- Partially torn tendon in my left wrist
- Multiple concussions from basketball
- Broken right hand

That's all I can remember...but that might be because of the concussions....

Hurt my arm one time in little league. That's it. I'm not very strong and just 6-0 but when I play basketball I always mixed it with the big guys. I used to play just about every day when I lived in Albion. I haven't played sports seriously in awhile. Now I think I'd think of self preservation and that's the kiss of death.

Broken left wrist while playing basketball. That sidelined me for a while.

Dislocated pinky during warm-ups before a 7th grade baseball game. I popped it back in and played a good game. It hurt like hell after the game though.

Suffered a shoulder injury playing football with friends while in college. I still don't know what the damage was, but lots of Motrin for the next few weeks eased the pain. Now, I can't throw a baseball or a football very well and if I'm playing catch, I can only last so long before my arm starts throbbing.

Numerous running injuries, but thankfully none too serious. The worst was sudden swelling in my right knee my sophomore year in high school. Bike exercises, ice, and therapy from our school's trainer cleared it up and I learned new stretches and training to keep it from happening again.

Other random things: strained bicep during baseball, Achilles strains during running (when I first run after not running for a while), and pain in the arches of my feet when my running shoes had too many miles on them.

As for me, I've had operations on both knees and some ankle problems.

I tore up my knee playing baseball my senior year. I was covering first on a bunt and the pitcher, Tony Cash, threw it behind me. I reached back to get the errant toss and my right leg came up and the runner plowed into it tearing the **** out of my knee.

I also broke my ankle playing basketball and pulled a hammy during a softball game.

got my mri back the other day, i have multiple bone chips and pieces of cartiledge floating around in my elbow and by elbow itself doesnt have sufficient amounts of cartiledge. I have to have arthroscopic elbow surgery over the summer to remove the bone and cartiledge.

Default Rotator Cuff Injury Question

Hello,
I am a quarterback for my football team. I was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendinitis 4 months ago. I went to physical therapy and that seemed to work well. I decided I was ready to throw again. I am able to throw with the same strength but sometimes still have pain.

I am in need of a good shoulder brace to wear during football and baseball games. Does anyone know of a good one they could recommend? I don't want to restrict my range of motion when throwing but I do want to protect my shoulder.

I tore the labrum in my shoulder. I'll get an MRI next week to see how bad it is. They likely will give me a cortisone shot and physical therapy to try to help it heal on its own, but if that fails they'll have to surgically put it back together.
