Arizona has outrighted Nunez back to AAA Toledo.

The Diamondbacks outrighted shortstop Gustavo Nunez to Detroit's Triple-A affiliate, the Tigers announced. Nunez, a 2011 Rule 5 Draft selection, spent the 2012 season on the Pirates' disabled list recovering from right ankle surgery. The Diamondbacks claimed him off of waivers from Pittsburgh on October 26th before returning him to Detroit today.

Regardless he is still a professional baseball player and I am jealous.

That guy earned a MLB minumum salary and booked a year of MLB pension service time sitting on his rear....He's awesome!!!

Gustavo's first year in Lakeland they had his swing so messed up between bunting, slash bunting and hitting and it showed. The next season he was able to drive some balls and got promoted. He is/was awesome in the field. That being said, he is a bit of a head case. He also has poor base running instincts. That being said, he is a better fielder than Cale and a better hitter than Cale. We lose nothing by starting him at AA or AAA this year.

You are so right, He's his own worst enemy and if he gets mentally into the game, he could be so much improved...still, not sure he's a prospect .

He was a top 20 prospect in the org, one with a pretty decent combo of defense and speed, before he was left unprotected. I remember that he hit well the year I saw him play for the Whitecaps. If the ankle is healthy, would it be worth the Tigers' time to give him a close look in Spring Training to he if he could be of help at some point this season?
