Is it Huey? I seen it in the Free Press for the first time today and searched Tigers forums for a recent post. I only try and post something newsworthy, not crap. I seldom start new post because I hate to think I missed a previous old thread. If it is old news (repost) I will ask that it get the can ASAP by the mods.

I asked because I have not looked further. I noticed several stories on this tonight. I thought the decision was made over a month ago and listed here at that time. Everything I read today was from Mon or Tue AM

I saw this news last night for the first time and should warrant it's own thread. Who wants to search through 44 pages of whether or not we need Casper Wells back to find a tidbit about something else.

Gone are Inge, Raburn, Valverde and Young. Now Lamont relieved of duties at 3rd. Who are we going to ***** about next year?

In the following order of likelihood:

    Leyland
    DD
    Closer
    Peralta
    Infante
    Avila
    Berry
    Fielder's fielding

Criticism of Berry will be the most entertaining since he sucks but a lot of people like him....so cue the JBK vs. Pyro debates!

What, no Phil Coke? Now that expectations have been ratcheted up for him, he's a lock for this list, I think.

I'm sticking with Lamont and all the splinters he'll be causing by sitting on the bench.

Don't you know this was covered on page 74 of the offseason thread ------- in between the argument about who would be the better bullpen catcher and the other argument about the best hotdog singing vendor in the AL?

I really hope Lamont moving to bench coach isn't a sign that he's being groomed to take over the reigns from Leyland in 2014.

Gino's supposed fault as a 3b coach is that he is too aggressive. If anything, I think Leyland is on the passive side of the scale as a manager. If that aggressiveness comes through as a manager, it might be interesting to watch a Lamont managed team after 7 or so yrs of Leyland.

If by aggressive managing you mean more bunts, more hits and runs, then I'll pass.

It's not so much small ball in particular, it's more along the line of trying to pressure a team where you know it may be weak. JL will almost always just choose to have the Tigers play the Tiger's game. A counter example might be the way some teams make such a conscious effort to change their hitting approach against Verlander, or really pushing a bad pitcher/catcher combo on the bases. How often do we see a Tiger team do anything like that?

Can't even say the one approach is even better, it would just be different, and maybe more interesting to watch.

He's 66 years old and has managed before. Don't think he needs grooming.
