100% yes to both. Nothing lost on a NRI, great to have them in camp. Whether it is 2 weeks or all year at Toledo. You never know.

Awesome news.
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight; my goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. -- Psalm 144:1-2

Well, as long as it was a minor league contract then that is good news.

I'm excited to see what he can do. I have zero expectations, but it would be a fun story. Always liked Bondo and he does have talent. The man did have a 200 K season.

Good news. I'm not expecting much, but I always liked Bonderman.

I hope he takes the contract. He could be a nice arm in the pen, or rotation depth, or whatever.

Yeah, I seem to remember Bonderman was really good in the 1st inning he pitched.....
"Thirty for me, that's yesterday," Valverde said. "It doesn't matter how many saves I have right now. The goal right now is the Tigers in first place, try to win every day, go to the playoffs and win everything."

In related news, the Tigers have also offered a minor league deal to Doyle Alexander. Alexander, 62 hasn't pitched since 1989. But he says he feels no lingering effects from the layoff. "I've been throwing at home with my grandson, and I feel great", Alexander said. The Tigers' General Manger, David Dombrowski, indicated that he would be surprised if Alexander actually made the big club. However, the team is willing to give him a chance to crack the bullpen as a non roster invitee.

IMHO, this is great news. It would be great to see Bonderman in the closer role.
Jeremy Bonderman plans to give pitching another shot - MLB - ESPN
He explained over the phone Sunday that most weeks, he's training six days out of seven, and he has cut his weight from 245 to about 210 pounds, or what he weighed as he came out of high school.

My only question is how is his breaking ball? Will we get another article (or seven) about that this Spring Training? The only thing that would be better than this is if we offer a contract to Maybin so we can talking about when he signs.

Apparently the Mariners are interested in Bonderman as well. Let the bidding war commence.

In this year's FA market, the strong early push is for the best one-year deals -- because of a stagnant trade market, high FA prices.

Teams scrambling for low-risk bargains, like Bonderman. He hasn't pitched in two years and he's had more than a dozen teams check in.

Interest from a dozen teams? Amazing.

Doubtful that we get into any kind of bidding war for Bonderman. Besides, as I keep pointing out, if it is correct that he had TJ in April 2012, he's not even going to be MLB ready until the end of May or June.

A little sad he didn't sign with the Tigers, but glad he's getting his shot with a hometown team. Hope he sticks it to the AL West pansies.
