    Default Verlander Cy Young chances?

I hear a lot of media talk about Verlander having a good shot at a second consecutive CY Young. While I am a huge Verlander fan I have to think he finished third behind Price and Weaver.

    Thoughts?

Verlander was the same pitcher this year as he was last except his WIN total does not reflect that. Price and Weaver had outstanding years but not enough to outshine Verlanders. Right now I say it is a dead heat between the 3.

Weaver? The top 3 are JV, Price and King Felix in that order.

Looking at the numbers alone, Justin should win it hands down. Higher WAR, More innings, higher K rate, better WHIP, comparable BB rate, comparable FIP... It won't hurt that the team made it to the World Series and he's one of our highest profile players.

If he doesn't win it, it will be a robbery.
    I love the Detroit Tigers.

Weaver shouldn't be in the top 5. Didn't pitch enough innings. I agree with JV, Price, Felix, in that order. But I think Price will win it.

He should be right there. Getting to the World Series makes no difference since the votes were done right after regular season but you have to think it's a dead heat between him and David Price.

I think the chances are good. Price might win it, but it will be a close one. JV should win. Weaver just doesn't pitch enough innings.

Honestly, I would've voted Verlander for Cy Young before Cabrera for MVP.

All the talk (generally) has been about Cabrera for MVP and not much about Verlander. Yet, I think the opposite should probably be true. Not that Cabrera shouldn't garner MVP thoughts. I just don't think he's the clear candidate for that award that Verlander is for the Cy Young.

    Price will win it.

Anyone else not named Verlander winning it will pretty well piss me off. Price earned it if JV doesn't repeat.
