Perhaps I misunderstand but Infante came from here.
    Two words: Costa Rica.

Austin, Prince, Infante, Peralta, Cabrera all came from other organizations.
Granderson, Maybin (started here anyhow)... and you also have to look at what our farm system has brought in trades, such as Cabrera, Peralta, Fister, etc. And Infante was signed by the Tigers as an amateur free agent in '99 and came up through the Tigers system.

I think he meant position players.

    Maybe he did.

Certainly isn't clear in his commentary, though.

The Tigers have been doing a much better job recently with their international signings. I am cautiously optimistic with some of their position prospects like Suarez, Garcia, Danry Vasquez, and Stephen Moya. I think they will have some MLB ready outfielders in the near future with Tyler Collins and Castelanos. The system has far better position prospects then pitching at this point. Not a great system by any stretch but they have been aided with the international signings, which offset not having a first round pick the past three years.
