Default Help me out! I am going to the Tigers game on Sunday from Lansing.

I have only been to 1 game at Comerica Park in 2006 with my dad (Verlander won that game).

I need some advice on where to park, what to buy foodwise? I am sitting in section 331 upper deck kind of behind home plate but a little to the left of home. I have heard the lot at Elizabeth and Grand River is $5. If I get there at noon will there still be parking spots? If that is full where should I go?

When my dad took me we parked at Grand Circus underground and it was $10 but that may be $15 now.

Give me some advice on what to do if I get there early to walk around and where should I buy food?

Thanks! I am excited. going with my wife and will cheer loudly because I hate that drummer John Adams of the INdians. He needs to be put in his place by our crowd. Nice start tonight with the 10-1 lead!

Park on the street. Meters aren't enforced Sunday.

If you are early enough to avoid lines the Big Cat Court has most of the food variety.

Take a lap of the lower bowl if you have time. There isn't much exciting to see in the upper deck.

We often park in the Greektown area, love the food there. We fill up then walk over to the ballpark.

I think the absolute best thing to do is to park at Nemo's on Michigan about a block from Tiger Stadium. They have a whole fleet of shuttle buses that run from the bar to the road just beyond the outfield wall at Comerica. It only costs 2 or 3 bucks for the bus(parking at Nemo's is FREE and safe. The buses then run immediately after the game. Tipping of the driver is optional, but I've always tipped a buck or two per trip. I will never ever again play the parking game at or around Comerica. It's that convenient and hassle-free.

I probably will not be at the park until noon and I want to walk around the stadium before the game so I want to know about ballpark food please. Prices and what is your favorite food to eat there thanks so far for the tips.

If you guys wanna make it a "day" go eat at Nemos pre-game and take the bus over. The Detroit Brewing Company is a good place to grab an unspectacular but decent brew after.

Just read this. So disregard. The food is pretty unspectacular there. Stick with standard fare. I will amend and say if you like beer head to one of the bars around the stadium. They have better choices. If you're not a drinker there is mostly standard soft drinks.

I thought the food at Comerica (that I've tried) was pretty pedestrian - I would just walk around the concourse and grab some sausages from one of those smaller stands, personally. Oh, and check any lemonade that you buy there. :-D

I always park at MGM. It's a few blocks further from the park than some of the other lots, but it's free as well as a straight shot to the Lodge. You avoid all the post game traffic.

Okay I probably will walk around the concourse and grab something from the booths. I am not sure I want to park in one of the casinos. I want a quick shot to the Lodge to get out of town I may even leave the game a little early to get out of there ahead of the rush.

You don't have to leave early. Just take Cass or Washington further downtown and catch the Lodge at Congress. You can do this from the $5 lot or the $10 lot on Adams two blocks from Grand River or from your metered spot on Park or Washington.

This is my go-to lot. Decent price, covered (love that shade for the day games!), relatively close, easy access to the expressway.

I often leave Fenway Park early if the Tigers are getting smoked and I know they have little chance to win. They've never come back to win and I've never regretted leaving early. If I'm at home, I'm more likely to stay with it.

They do it to avoid the crowd leaving the park or because they have something else they want to do after the game. I probably would have stayed at today's games but I have left games early before. I've seen you leave games early in Lakeland!

Since we've gotten season tickets we'll leave early from time to time. It's usually if the weather isn't the greatest or we have plans after a day game we'll cut out early.

That's a minor league game... pretty big difference there. I'm mostly there to see individual hitters/pitchers.

I just think leaving a home game early just to beat traffic is pretty crazy. Anything can happen, why take that risk of missing a walk-off? Of course I can see why if they have somewhere to be, but that probably isn't usually the case.

I know of a couple of people who got stranded in Boston because they refused to leave early, the game lasted forever, and... the T had stopped running for the day.

    Oops.

I care more about MLB games too, but not every one is that way. I bet there are people who love their minor league team so much, they would never league early. Then they might go to a major league game and leave early.

Have you ever left a televised game early?

We never leave early just to beat traffic.

I used to get upset at people who left early, but if they paid for the tickets and they feel they got their money's worth after seven innings that's their prerogative.

I don't think this is a good comparison. As many MLB (50ish?) and MiLB games (a few hundred) I've been to in person, I've only ever seen one walk-off homer, and that was off the bat of Scott Moore when he played for Lakeland. And that one game stands out far more than any other game I've been to. I've never seen any type of walk-off win at a Tigers game. No way I'm missing a chance to actually see one in person.

So you wouldn't have stayed to see Guillen do that back in 2007? That was my first MLB game, and to have it an awesome win, weird weather and giant national talk about game was pretty awesome.

Ugh. We left after the 8th inning when the score was tied 5-5.
We were getting sunburned in the upper deck so went to the lower deck in the bottom of the 6th to walk around.
It was nice as they have tv screens and it is shaded.

After 8 I did not want to see the Tigers lose because I would be angry.
When we got to our car it was the bottom of the 9th with a runner on 3rd and 1 out.
They walked Miggy and Prince to load the bases and I wish I had stayed... until Q hit into a double play.

Then I heard the Indians score 3 in the 10th and was even more glad we had left.
I made my wife turn the channel several times but always found its way back to the game.
And yes it found its way back a pitch or two before Cabreras game winner!
    Dickerson went ballastic.
I kept wishing I had stayed but knew that there is no way I would have found the courage in an 8-5 game especially when the 1st two Tigers went down in the 10th. Next time will be different though!

By the way what happened with the Laird play at 1st that got him and Leyland thrown out of the game. I thought he was out but you really cannot see from so far up in the seats. I guess he may have been safe?

In the end I am so happy the Tigers won! This was already in the loss column for sure but they snatched victory from certain defeat!
Nice to see a civilized baseball crowd. No idiots behind homeplate waving zoo animal puppets and garishly colored flags.(quote from "Antrat")

Yeah Lair was safe, but a tough call for the umpire.
