    The one thing that Kelly offered though was high socks. Who is going to be the Tigers gritty white guy with high socks? I don't think they have one anymore.

    Thanks, but I saw some recent photos where Baker was not wearing high socks. That could be the reason for his slump. Either way, he needs to bring them back.

    I hear what you are saying about Kelly, but I always thought that he was too tall to be gritty. The occasional successes that he had were more a result of being savvy, in my opinion.

    The last Tiger I recall wearing those was Alan Trammell, although they were the ones where the stirrup was actually just a dark colored part of the sock as softball players wear.

    I can't remember who it was, but in one of yesterday's games a player was wearing the high stirrups. Did a double take. Looked weird after so long without them.
