DETROIT TIGERS COMICS PAGE
I've started posting these in the game threads but since so many people seem to not like the game threads anymore I'm going to archive them here. Add your own if you'd like. Charles Liston has submitted some real zinger lines to pep these up, too. I'll probably get tired of it after a while but here it is for now.

Love these, Bert!
Does anyone remember those comics out of Japan, featuring the Tigers? I think they did them for other MLB teams as well, and I remember them from the mid-2000s.Will the Delmon madness ever end? http://www.facebook.com/saynotodelmon

I'm glad people like them. I'm enjoying it. The next two are actually better than what you've seen so far. One of the next two was Charles' idea.
Also, although I'm using Chrome, my 12.0 Firefox was working fine on the graphics when I just checked."If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster."--Clint Eastwood

These remind of my brother's Far Side compilation book that had a section of goofs / panels that received criticisms for inappropriateness.
One of the 'goofs' was that an editor 'accidentally' swapped the dialogue bubble from the Far Side and Dennis the Menace, such that a Far Side panel entitled 'Caveman Fortune-teller' (or something closely related) showed a fortune-teller asking the client if the client would make her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and in the Dennis the Menace strip there appeared a panel where Dennis told Mr. Wilson that his head would end up on an anthropologist's desk one day.
Don Larson's take was that the lines were funnier in the wrong strip than the ones they were intended. I see a parallel here. I suspect these strips are far funnier as presented than they originally were.

Good observation. I remember that one, too, from whatever book it was in. Another thing these remind me of is Sealab 2021 from the Cartoon Network, which was essentially slightly-doctored visuals from the boring-*** Sealab 2020 cartoon, put together funny with new voices and ridiculous plots. Take that, subspace!
Keep it up, Bert. I freakin' love these.0118 999 881 999 119 7253

Okay. I'll post this one early, just for you.
EDIT: I think I'll post all the extra ones I have in the can right now. Waiting seems bogus and the internet is the world of short term memory and instant gratification anyway.

The story of Lu Ann's coma and Nick and Mimi's baby will continue but I want to post this last one too.

So... does anybody think that the transmogrifier gun from Calvin and Hobbes could be used to turn certain players on the team into actual MLB level players?
This spot, and a place in my heart, is reserved for TC.

My god, I haven't laughed out loud as much on this board as I have in this thread. Bravissimo!
But tonight, I say we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!
