    Default Gerald Laird uniform

Question...I know the first time Laird was here, he wore uniform #8, but baseball-reference indicates that he changed to #12 sometime during the 2010 season, and now he's #9. Any reason for the changes?

I imagine that the initial change was due to him being unable to deal with the pressure of living up a former #8, Deivi Cruz.
    Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

Jim Price probably requested that he quit wearing 12 if he's going to continue sucking.

Well, he is not wearing #12 because some scrub Andy Dirks is wearing it. #8 brings back bad memories. 9 was available and Damian Easley gave his blessing.........

The number 8.....is that the number of homeruns that Easley hit after the Tigers left Tiger stadium?

There are 30 MLB teams so each one should win the World Series on average once every 30 years.
