Valverde Leaves Game w/ Undisclosed Injury
For those not watching the game. He grimaced, Avila called out Rand, and he was pulled with a 3-1 count. Hopefully minor.
Updates here I guess.I like a man who grins when he fights--- Sir Winston Churchill.

I wish I felt the closer getting injured was catastrophic, but I don't.2010 Adopt-A-Tiger, The GREAT Ernie Harwell
2012 Adopt-A-Tiger, The GREAT Luke Putkonen
2013 Adopt-A-Tiger, The GREAT Confesor Lara

This is good news. As much as I don't trust Valverde, there is a much better chance of him getting his act together than the middle relievers. I don't want to see a situation where Putkonen, Balester, etc pitch more innings.Lee Panas
"They can use both (old- and new-school statistics)," Cabrera said. "In 2012, we've got to take advantage of all that.

I would put it past the WS to have tasered him"The first time I met Destro, he asked me if he should have his entire head coated in chrome. I said "No! How would you do that? How would that even work?"
Very, very good news. Valverde has been outstanding as a member of this franchise. Worth every penny and desperately needed.Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

Saw him bending over and stretching on a couple of pitches prior to Avila coming out to talk to him.

I really don't think he's been much different than last year actually. 2 differences - he was really, really lucky a lot last year and this year's infield is slow. I know that Cabrera and Raburn are better than we thought they would be - but they are both still below average defenders and as solid as Jhonny is - he's not exactly the quickest shortstop.World Series or Bust. Guess What? Bust........again.
