I don't think anyone is calling up Garcia until he learns what a strike zone and a breaking pitch are.

Well the Braves aren't going to give up an IFer, so my guess would be a mid-level reliever that throws hard but walks a bunch of people.

Definitely makes sense to trade one of them though.

An off-season would not be complete without Dombrowski trading for one of those guys.

Dirks I could believe, but to me it seems like a guy coming back from injuries with no options would not be a very good trade candidate, unless you're willing to take basically nothing back.

yeah, as much as I like Thomas, I don't think he has any trade value. I got the feeling Leyland lost confidence in Dirks at the end of last year, so I could see them trading him and I think he has a little value.

Trading Dirks instead of Thomas would be a huge mistake.

Although I could see a trade of high prospects like Nick Castellanos and Ryan Strieby.
Their paths are blocked for a few years and they are expendable.

Maybe these are the chips DD is offering for a solid #5 SP? You can never have too much pitching, so some people say.

Castellanos isn't expendable just yet. VMart will probably be gone after 2013. After his contract expires, the Tigers could conceivably put Castellanos at third and have Cabrera DH.

Strieby probably doesn't have a future in the organization, but I wouldn't know that for sure.

Strieby's only real MLB skill disappeared since he injured his wrist (I don't know if this was due to the injury or just a coincidence) I can't see him having any value to anyone

Strieby is hardly a prospect anymore.

On another note, I think that something along the lines of Oliver/other decent prospect for Travis Snider is something to think about.
