All Tiger games on TV this year!

I don't remember a time in the last 15 years or so when I couldn't watch a Tigers game on TV or through MLB.TV.

I cannot wait to sit in front of the TV and watch a Sunday afternoon game while it is 70 degrees or so outside...maybe with a BBQ planned for later in the afternoon or maybe while BBQ'ing. Maybe with a bottle of Sierra Nevada in my hand...maybe not..either way.

Something I hardly did last year was golf. I plan on remedying that this summer.

Every time you play a hand of you poker you wanna run through a mental check list. Head Position Hand Position Neck Position Breathing Posture. More than 25 items. It's a lot. And that why I've come up with a handy mnemonic device. Just one word: HPHPNPBPECMSPAMDCPAFTSTTL. It's easy.

With content at a premium, are there any baseball teams that all the games aren't shown on TV for? I mean there are so many channels out there aching for programming, sports must be a premium on the reality circuit. BigFoot hunters, meter maids and "real" housewive shows are all over the place.

You know SA has been a place I've been wanting to visit for sometime. If a conference in SA ever comes up (there has to be at least one) I will lobby for that.
SoCal is nice, but I have trouble with that 3 hour time change. I know it works for a lot of people, but for me, 7pm for sporting events work very well for me. CT wouldn't be bad either.

Those of you of a certain age may remember when only forty games per year were televised. Those days sucked ***.

haha, tree tops, which is in Gaylord is not the U.P. Another 90 minutes north is where you will find The Oaks at Kincheloe (an old air force base), which is where I golf out of. Also Bay Mills Indian Tribe has a course called Wild Bluff...seriously awesome with overlooking views of Lake Superior. Michelle Wi has played there a few times for women golf events.

I missed the 'UP' part and thought 'Up North' in general. I have never stepped foot in the UP.
I have been to quite a few cities Up north..most recently Rogers City to meet with a client. I used to go up north with co-workers in a different life and we would play a round once in a while while up there, but it has been a long time."Yeah You're right man...that is enough."

Plus there is that whole thing about not having to deal with icy roads, putting multiple layers of clothing on your children before you can even walk out the door, slipping on the sidewalk because of black ice, snow shoveling etc.
I'll take Texas over any place that gets snow 10 times out of 10.

I remember them well. I used to get my Tiger yearbook and/or schedule and start counting the games on Channel 4. You'd get a couple of more on Saturday (NBC) or Monday night (ABC) if the Tigers were any good that year.
I guess I didn't look at it as a bad thing because I didn't know any better. What it did do, though, was my really make sure I watched all the games on TV. It also gave me a great appreciation for listening to the games on the radio. Even now, I don't find watching the game on TV 100 percent necessary. Many times I like just having it on the radio."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown
"I'm going to go the Pistons' game tonight and watch Sheed jack up threes." -unknown

Florida isn't bad in the summertime as long as you are on the coast and not in the panhandle. Drive an hour inland and it is miserable.
I actually like summer where I live. The sun sets earlier than in Michigan and you can go out in shorts and a t-shirt and feel comfortable.

I also remember the WDIV days. One of the frustrating things was that there was hardly ever a Thursday night game on TV because of the Cosby Show and Family ties "Must See TV!!".
Like you said, the radio was the main way I followed the games.
Ernie and Paul broadcasting on hot summer evenings will always be fond memories for me.Robert Culp still dead.

I'm answering my own question. Apparently there were more of those afternoon getaway games back in that era than I remember. There were six of them in 1984. They had 15 games scheduled on Thursdays, so that's a decent amount. And I didn't include the first-week Thursday day game because that wasn't a getaway day.

BTW,
My 1982 yearbook has Jack Perconte's, Rick Suctcliffe's (twice for some reason) and two other autographs in it. Something Phillips I think.
There were NO 1982 geteaway dates.
In 1983 there were three getaway games.
I had better success getting road players - Vance Law, Dave Nelson, I think Tom Paciorek, Salome Barojas and someone else I can't read. Cool that I have Paciorek's. All of the others are kind of silly. But, hey, you get who you get. I thought I remembered a Dave Nelson when I was a kid, yet I can't find one on a 1983 roster. Checking it, he was a coach for the White Sox. I figured he had to do something with Chicago based on all the other autographs."Only Lions fans can predict a victory when their starting quarterback has a broken arm." -unknown

I saw fewer games than that. I saw them when they played the Red Sox and if they played on the game of the week. I used to watch the Reds a lot because they were always on the game of the week and had an entertaining team. I listened to most of the games on the radio. I devoured the box scores every morning and read the Sporting News every week. When I did get to see them on TV, it a special event which I anticipated all week. None of it sucked at all. I loved following the game that way.
Of course, I wouldn't trade what we have today for the old way, but the memories are great.Lee Panas
