First of all, it wasn't *my* thesis. I didn't make any claims in the thread whether I thought Bonderman was rushed or not, so I don't know how you come to claim what my thesis is. I simply was arguing with your analogy, which I think was overstated to the point of hyperbole. I think there is a lot more math training required to master calculus from 5th grade math than there is required baseball training between AA and MLB.
Secondly, (and far more importantly) each player is unique, and what *might* be rushed for one isn't rushed for another. Just because an individual believes Jeremy was not adversely affected by being aggressively promoted does not mean one thinks all players can be aggressively promoted without adversely affecting them.
I don't think anyone claimed or suggested every player could be promoted agressively without adverse effects - that is just a strawman you created.Last edited by Mr. Bigglesworth; 02-13-2012 at 01:26 PM.
I don't feel very much like a tiger. Maybe I am a vicious *** koala bear. Did you ever investigate that?

I suspect Burnett could have a nice bounce back year outside of New York, especially if he returns to the NL, although strangely his numbers have been better at home than away as a Yankee. He still strikes out a good number of batters and doesn't give up a ton of hits. Not looking to support his case here, but he only had 1 month over 5.00 last season - of course it was way over, at a sparkling 11.91.
But some problems are that he walks too many, gives up too many home runs and still is prone to unravelling pretty easily. I don't believe this is a direction the Tigers should take, for those reasons, the 2nd year remaining on his contract, and the fact the Tigers have multiple nice prospect options for that spot.2012 AAT: Don Kelly #32

FWIW, Burnett has better numbers at Yankee Stadium than he does on the road over the last three years. I thought that was interesting.
