I received my spring training season ticket info yesterday. I'm ready for it to begin all ready!!
Saturdays will be crazy with this schedule. They're only home on three Saturdays and two of those games are against the Yanks and Cardinals.

Anyone have any recommendations for a hotel in the Lakeland area? I plan on hitting two games with my dad and staying there one night. Thanks.

There are 3 or 4 chain hotels on North Socrum Loop Rd., right off of the highway and only 3-4 miles from the stadium, probably the closest to the fields. Here you have Wendy's, Applebees, Cracker Barrel and a 7-Eleven within walking distance. I've included the link to the Hampton Inn.
Then about 3-4 miles in the opposite direction of the stadium you have The Terrace Hotel downtown. A little more expensive, this hotel is right downtown on the lake and within walking distance of a few bars and restaurants. There are also some chain hotels on the south side of town which is a nice area, but a bit farther from the stadium. Here are links to the 2 I mentioned.

Thirty-four days away on March 2nd against the Mocs. I wish the Tigers would publish a broadcast schedule so we'd know if a game or two is on TV and which will be on radio.

I can't wait! Just got tickets to the Saturday March 3rd game @ Atlanta, which will end up being the first game of the ST sched (they play the Mocs on Friday). Then got tickets on Wed March 7th Vs Atlanta. Right now i'm debating if I want to pick up a ticket for Monday March 5th or not VS Toronto.

Ah, finally found it. I've been watching for this thread. Hueytaxi, for many of us, your pictures always bring spring to Michigan a lot earlier than the official calendar dictates. Just wanted to let you know that we're all watching!

Nice day at the ball park and knew quite of a few of the minimal fan base that was there. Since I am having issues with posting pictures, here is the link to Flickr and then I will attempt to post some pix.

How come every time I see Jacob Turner...he's standing by himself? Wonder if he's a natural introvert?

Made to Joker Marchant this morning, stayed for about 45 minutes or so, was a bit too cold for me. When I departed most of the players were finishing up and in the batting cage.

This must be such an exciting time for the fringe players. I imagine myself heading to spring training as a rookie or a player not on the roster, but possibly eyeing a spot on the big teams roster that they have a need at.
We are pretty stacked, but if I were a fringe player and played 2b or a SP for example I would be rather excited. Even if I didn't play a position that the big club needed it would just be cool to show up and show what I got for the future."Yeah You're right man...that is enough."

One example of such an instance was a few years back when Sizemore entered Spring Training with 2B all but handed to him. As we all know, he flubbed that opportunity and we've still struggled to replace the great Polanco since. I'm hoping Ramon somehow gets the majority of AB's and proves to the brass this ST that he's capable.
I'm also very happy that we have some closure at thiird.Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

I should have joined Jim this morning. As I began to load up and opened the garage door, reality (spelled COLD) set in. Hopefully in the morning. Reporting day is often weird with photos going on.

Me too. I prefer Santiago play the majority at 2b if only for his defense...which leaves DY and Raburn to switch up LF/DH added with Dirks maybe. I wonder if Worth beats Santiago out this year? I think Santiago will get the benefit of the doubt because of the contract to start...not sure how long that benefit will last if he under performs, but I would be shocked to not see Santiago start at 2b this year.
