Clearly not a lead-off hitter. Hits too many homers. Needs to hit more singles and steal more bases.

I don't think the Tigers would receive any PR benefit for calling up Berry, and I guess I don't know how good he is in the corner defensive positions to know whether his value as a defensive OF is significant.

I doubt he is good enough defensively to ever replace Jackson in a game, and I doubt his arm is good enough for RF. So that leaves LF. I just don't know if the Tigers will value a late inning defensive replacement in LF / pinch runner enough to place him on the 40-man roster.

What does Berry bring? He looks like Kelly without the defensive breadth.

I've been impressed Jackson so far. I don't expect him to cut down on strikeouts all that much. He is still striking out at a high rate. I also don't expect him to walk a lot. I think the leg kick thing will help his production overall. I think it could be enough to mildly cut down on Ks and increase walks, which might just be enough to make him a good hitter. The power is the main thing. He's been hitting the ball hard, and that is a good sign.

Im thinking a 10% walk rate, 25% k rate, and maybe 3 home runs per 100 PAs. In the other 62 balls in play, I'll give him 21 hits. That's an obp of 340. I'll take that.

This is pretty much where I figured he could peak out at 26-28 yrs old.

A 340 obp and 18 home runs is pretty good from your center fielder.
