Luke Scott of the players listed. Still letting it perculate in my mind to see if I might come with another player comp that might fit my thinking.

When he hits a HR with that high, over-the-head follow-through, he resembles Fred McGriff.
I'm a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. Range Factor is neither about a fielder's range, nor should it be much of a factor when discussing fielding prowess. Discuss.

I selected Luke Scott and I think that would be a good result if it happens.

The size (BB bigger) nor the speed (BB faster) is accurate, but I'm hopeful that he has a Trot Nixon like career with the bat.
Retired. Thanks for the entertainment.

Luke Scott was a platoon player. Brennan Boesch actually hits substantially better versus lefties.
Overall, I think Boesch will hit for a higher average with similar power, but not as many walks. Overall, I think he'll be a tick ahead of Scott, and someone that you could play every day and bat 5th or 6th.AAT: 2007 L. Oliveros | 2008-10 F. Martinez | 2011 H. Perez | 2012 E. Suarez | 2013 J. I vote a left handed Craig Monroe. Both don't walk often, both had good power when they could center a fastball, both are susceptible to breaking pitches out of the zone, both finished their swings in similar fashion, both were capable of streaks that would make them one of the best hitters over a sizeable period of time and also one of the worst, both are average defenders, both can run but are not burners or base stealers.

Scott's OPS versus LHP (.789) is better than Boesch's lifetime OPS against all pitchers. .789 versus the same handed pitcher is not bad at all. I think he is often underrated on this board which is surprising since he kills the Tigers.
Boesch has hit better versus lefties in 194 PA but that's not a very high number. I'd be surprised if that kept up because it's rare for a LHB to hit so much better versus lefties. I would bet that he'll end up hitting RHP significantly better than LHP pitchers.Lee Panas

I said other because he reminds me of the Jay Buhner/Pat Burrell/Jeromy Burnitz type, but with a higher average and a lower SLG/HR. Luke Scott would be my closest on the list.

OK, I just had to look up stats, so I could post responsibly, he reminds me exactly of Luke Scott. The first part was just 'feel'.VT----------2011/12 AAL Bill Bentley

None of these guys really match up. Boesch is pretty athletic and can hit LHP.
His swing reminds me a little of Russell Branyan, but with better contact rate. Fred McGriff was another good comp, swing-wise.
So I'll say a cross-breeding between Scott and Higgy. Or maybe Jim Edmonds without the outfield skills.2012 & 2013 Adopt A Tiger: Dean Green (Lakeland Flying Tigers)

Somewhere between Thames and Monroe when he was good. He's streaky like Thames, but unlike Marcus he's not totally useless when he's cold. He certainly fields like Marcus. So a 3rd, maybe 4th outfielder.
